Hi, Running the following example from ?Predict() throws an error I have never seen before: set.seed(1) x1 <- runif(300) x2 <- runif(300) ddist <- datadist(x1,x2); options(datadist='ddist') y <- exp(x1+ x2 - 1 + rnorm(300)) f <- ols(log(y) ~ pol(x1,2) + x2) p1 <- Predict(f, x1=., conf.type='mean') Error in paste(nmc[i], "=", if (is.numeric(x))

Write.fwf works from Mac, throws different number of row error in Windows
Hello, I am having a problem with write.fwf in Windows. I wrote a code to ingest a number of text files with weather data in them, process them, and then output a text file with two parts: 1) a set of column names, 2) the processed data table. I wrote and tested the program on my Mac, and it worked fine. However, on the windows machine, where I intend the work to be done, when I run the

I have just upgraded to R 2.13 and have library(ggplot2) in my .Rprofile (among other things). when i start R I get an error message. Has something in the start up scripts changed? Is there a better way to specify the library calls in .Rprofile? Thanks for all of the help in advance. Installing MCMCpack on Solaris 10 X86
Hi, I've been having problems getting MCMCpack installed on my Solaris 10 x86 system. I've installed gcc from opencsw.org, and, for the most part, other R packages install nicely. >From what I can gather, the build fails due to a mismatch of include files. I *think* it wants to use the include files that are contained within the MCMCpack package (but I could be wrong on this - if this

sem with categorical data
I am trying to run a confirmatory factor analysis using the SEM package. My data are ordinal. I have read http://socserv.mcmaster.ca/jfox/Misc/sem/SEM-paper.pdf. When I apply the hetcor function, I receive the following error: Error in checkmvArgs(lower = lower, upper = upper, mean = mean, corr = corr, : at least one element of 'lower' is larger than 'upper' Example:

repolr output
Hello all, I am unsure of how to interpret the output from a Generalized Estimating Equation analysis of an ordinal response. I hope someone can enlighten me. The analysis was done using package 'repolr'. The data consists of a Score on a 3-point scale from 56 Subjects after repeatedly washing their hands with soap. Two soap Products were tested, each panelist washed 10 times = 10

R 2.12.0 and JGR
Since upgrading to 2.12.0, I'm having trouble getting the JGR to start under Windows 7, but I'm not quite sure what's happening. When I try to run the JGR.exe stub, the dialog says can't find Java R interface jri.dll. As nearly as I can tell from a Google search this is to be a part of the rJava package which seems to load fine with the library(rJava) command from the Windows R

effects package --- add abline to plot
Hello, I am not having success in a simple task. Using the effects package, I would like to add reference lines at probability values of 0.1 – 0.6 on a plot of the effects. The plot command works, but following up with an abline command produces the message “plot .new has not been called yet”, and of course the reference lines were not added. Looking through past R help lists, there was a
