Error when calling a dll procedure
Dear experts,
I am a beginner in R and try to build dlls (Win XP, MinGW, R 1.7.1).
So far, I have managed to create and to use some dlls with C code which
worked properly.
Now I am stuck with a dll containing C++ code.
I have included some part of the source code (of an implementation of a
function to find all primes below a given numeric value -> its just an exercises

graphically accessing pv guest
Hi all,
I''m trying to expand the screen resolution of my guest when using vnc. It
appears I need to use the extra variable in my guest config file and xenfb.
I pass it in like this:
extra = ''xenfb.video=8,1024,768''
I can see this being passed to the kernel when it boots but it doesn''t
change the vnc screen resolution. I also see this when I type ps -ef |

possible Xen bugs
Hi all,
I recently installed Squeeze, followed but Xen 4.0. A few notes of things
I've run into while installing.
The network script part of the xend-config.sxp does not appear to work.
Everything would boot find until I uncommented that line and tried to set it
up per the Debian Xen wiki. I managed to get bridging to work using the
debian network bridge tools, brctl.
Xen does not

Density estimate with bounds
Dear R users,
I would like to show the estimated density of a (0, 1) uniformly distributed
random variable. The density curve, however, goes beyond 0 and 1 because of the
kernel smoothing.
Example:
x = runif(10000)
plot(density(x))
Is there a way to estimate the density curve strictly within (0, 1) and still
use some sort of smoothing?
Any help would be greatly appreciated.

Printing Problem
Hi there.
I have the following Problem (configuration follows):
I have configured Samba with 3 printers, 2 of them with direct
connection over TCP, because they are connected directly to the
internal network.
When I try to print on one of them, the printing application on a
Windows XP Professional client freezes and a Windows 2000 client
reports an error message,
that there is a problem with

Plugin Status
Hello,
I have been using flac for some time and it works really great for me. I have
tried the plugins for winamp2 and xmms and noticed that it does display the
vorbis tags but you cannot edit them yet. It would also be cool to show some
infos like md5sum, numbers of frames etc. in the plugin status window. Are
these features under development or not very high priority?

vegan (ordisurf): R² for smoothed surfaces
Dear r-helpers,
I just read in an article by Virtanen et al. (2006) where vegetation-environment relationships are studied by fitting smoothed surfaces on an NMDS ordination using GAMs (Wood 2000). The authors describe, that they used R? as goodness-of-fit statistic, which they compare to the R? of fitted vectors. Calculations were carried out using the package vegan (Oksanen).
I know that I can

.mailboxlist location
Greetings.
On our 1.2.9 setup, we are finding that .mailboxlist (we recompiled to
use this name rather than .subscriptions) ends up in the user's ~/mail
folder. We'd like this file to be stored in ~/ instead. Is this
possible without changing namespaces (for UW compatibility) and/or
userdb mail location?
Thanks!

I think IMAP is the right protokoll but it should be safe, so i think IMAPs is better.

Test for stochastic dominance, non-inferiority test for distributions
Dear R-Users,
Is anyone aware of a significance test which allows
demonstrating that one distribution dominates another?
Let F(t) and G(t) be two distribution functions, the
alternative hypothesis would be something like:
F(t) >= G(t), for all t
null hypothesis: F(t) < G(t), for some t.
Best wishes,
Matthias
PS. This one would be ok, as well:
F(t) > G(t), for all t

data.frame extracting data row-wise
Dear All,
I am struggling with extracting data from a data frame:
x=data.frame(a=1:11,b=100:110)
What I want is a list/vector in this sence: 1 100 2 101 3 102...
For single rows, this works fine:
as.matrix(x)[1,]
For, say 2 rows, this works fine:
z=c(as.matrix(x)[1,],as.matrix(x)[2,])
But
z=c(as.matrix(x)[1:2,])
gives 1 2 100 101!?
Is there an 'automated way' to produce a

Since v.1.2 deliver does not reject mails if over quota (maildir quota).

[LLVMdev] LLVM for heterogenous platforms
Hi llvm,
it's for sure an obvious idea to use llvm as IR for heterogenous
platforms (e.g. CPU+GPU).
In theory someone could write plain C/C++ code, which by clang is
translated to llvm-IL and then
together with JIT-backends packed in an appropriate executable. Thus all
the limitations
and hassles of openCL or CUDA could be avoided. I wonder if there
already is a related project?
