Computer Modern Fonts in R graphic
Hello all,
I am trying to use computer modern fonts in my r grahics. I tried to do,
as described here: http://www.stat.auckland.ac.nz/~paul/R/CM/CMR.html
but unfortunately, it does not work.
First of all I downloaded the cm-lgc package and the AFM and PFB-files
from the page and put them in my R working directory, so far, so good.
Then I tried to run the following code:

Latex fonts in R graphics
Hello, R users.
I am trying to embed Computer modern fonts to an R plot and I get the
following error.
CM <- Type1Font("CM",
+ c(paste("cm-lgc/fonts/afm/public/cm-lgc/",
+ c("fcmr8a.afm", "fcmb8a.afm", "fcmri8a.afm", "fcmbi8a.afm"), sep=""),
+ "./cmsyase.afm"))

CM Fonts in PDF output
Hi!
On Linux I try to produce pdf graphs with computer modern fonts so that they
look nice in LaTeX documents. I run for example:
------
CM <- Type1Font( "CM",
c("/usr/share/texmf-texlive/fonts/afm/public/cm-lgc/fcmr8a.afm",
"/usr/share/texmf-texlive/fonts/afm/public/cm-lgc/fcmb8a.afm",

Sweave doesn't hand on width of special characters of Computer Modern fonts to LaTeX
Hello R users,
Using R, Sweave and the cmsyase.afm font it is possible to write LaTeX
documents including R figures with text in the Computer Modern Fonts:
\documentclass{article}
\usepackage{Sweave}
\begin{document}
<<echo = false, results = hide>>=
CM <- Type1Font("CM",
c(file.path("C:/texlive/2009/texmf-dist/fonts/afm/public/cm-lgc",

Sweave, cm-lgc and minus signs
Hello,
since a couple of days I'm trying hard to elicit a certain thing
out of the Sweave function of R. Unfortunately I'm quite unsuccessful.
It's only about a small, ridiculous minus sign, which does not appear
in the final pdf of a latex file, if I try to incorporate the Computer-
Modern fonts into the plot. It seems, that R uses different encodings
for minus signs, which are put

why stress value remains so high after invoking of metaMDS
Hello everyone!
metaMDS(cm, distance = "euclidean", k = 2, trymax = 50, autotransform
=TRUE, trace = 1, plot = T)
(cm is a similarity matrix, in which values are positive integers or 0)
I use this command to run NMDS on my matrix "cm". But the stress is very
high after analysis. About 14.
Actually, there is no improvment comparing with using isoMDS.

using LaTeX-fonts with R
Hi,
I try to use the sfrm1000.pfb Type-1 font with my postscript plots. When I
add family=CM to the postscript() command the output is empty. What am I
doing wrong?
# define font
CM <- Type1Font('ComputerModern', # font ID
c(file.path(getwd(), c('sfrm1000.afm', '', '', ''))), # font metrics
encoding='AdobeStd');

PDF fonts problem
Dear List,
I am writing a paper in Hungarian, that I Sweave and than pdfLaTeX.
Everything is fine, except for two accented letters in the graphs that
behave strange, though on the screen and in eps exports they look
perfect. The problem is that I need pdf graphs, since I would like to
have a PDF after LaTeX-ing.
For the example below I downloaded the following two font sets:

about isoMDS method
Hi,
For example:
I built a half matrix "w" using a daisy(x, metric = c("euclidean"))
http://www.nabble.com/file/p25211016/1.jpg
And next I transformed this matrix "w" using isoMDS function, for example
isoMDS(w, k=2) and as result I got:
http://www.nabble.com/file/p25211016/2.jpg
And now I have two questions:
1. If number in matrix w[2, 1] (= 0.41538462) match

This is a very old version which is EOL. If you can upgrade to any of the
supported version (3.10 or 3.12) would be great.
They have many new features, bug fixes & performance improvements. If you

Computer Modern Fonts in R
About a month ago I sent a message to the list about some changes which
could allow R to fully utilize the (La)TeX Computer Modern fonts. I didn't
get any replies indicating the changes would be accepted in some form,
what could be improved in them, or that the changes were not wanted.
The patches and other files needed are available from:

MGE Pulsar ES 8+
Hi!
I have a MGE Pulsar ES 8+ UPS. Here is the response of some commands:
- Si --> 3000 44 0
- Si 1 --> Pulsar ES8+ 0
- Ai --> 5 0
It's not recognized very well by the current (from CVS) mge-utalk driver:
[root@srv01 ~]# /home/rog/src/nut/drivers/mge-utalk -i 20 -DDD -u root
/dev/ttyS0
Network UPS Tools - MGE UPS SYSTEMS/U-Talk driver 0.86 (2.1.0)
debug level is '3'

Suggested tidying up
Package grDevices has a function cm() to convert from inches to centimeters. Its definition is:
cm <- function(x) 2.54*x
As far as I can tell, the function is not used anywhere in the R sources (I grepped for "cm(", "cm)" and ", cm".) I did not check for all packages on CRAN, though.
May I propose to remove this apparently useless function from the sources?

Hi,
Thanks for reply!
I?ve checked [1]. But the problem is that there is nothing shown in command ?gluster volume heal <volume-name> info?. So these split-entry files could only be detected when app try to visit them.
I can find gfid mismatch for those in-split-brain entries from mount log, however, nothing show in shd log, the shd log does not know those split-brain entries. Because there

Strange error with log-normal models
Hi,
I have some data, that when plotted looks very close to a log-normal distribution. My goal is to build a regression model to test how this variable responds to several independent variables.
To do this, I want to use the fitdistr tool from the MASS package to see how well my data fits the actual distribution, and also build a generalized linear model using the glm command.

HI gluster experts,
I meet a tough problem about ?split-brain? issue. Sometimes, after hard reboot, we will find some files in split-brain, however its parent directory or anything could be shown in command ?gluster volume heal <volume-name> info?, also, no entry in .glusterfs/indices/xattrop directory, can you help to shed some lights on this issue? Thanks!
