R quantreg anova: How to change summary se-type
He folks=)
I want to check whether a coefficient has an impact on a quantile regression
(by applying the sup-wald test for a given quantile range [0.05,0.95].
Therefore I am doing the following calculations:
a=0;
for (i in 5:95/100){
fitrestricted=rq(Y~X1+X2,tau=i)
tifunrestrited=rq(Y~X1+X2+X3,tau=i)
a[i]=anova(fitrestricted,fitunrestricted)$table$Tn) #gives the Test-Value
}
supW=max(a)

about different bandwidths in one graph
Thank you in advance.
Now I want to make comparison of the different bandwidth h in a normal
distribution graph.
This is the table of bandwidth h: thumb rule (normal)--0.00205; thumb
rule(Epanech.)--0.00452; Plug-in (normal)--0.0009;
Plug-in(Epanech.)--0.002.
this is the condition: N=1010 data sample is from normal distribution
N(0,0.0077^2). The grid points are taken to be [-0.05,0.05] and

BreastCancer Dataset for Classification in kknn
Dear All,
I'm getting a error while trying to apply the BreastCancer dataset
(package=mlbench) to kknn (package=kknn) that I don't understand as I'm new
to R.
The codes are as follow:
rm = (list = ls())
library(mlbench)
data(BreastCancer)
library(kknn)
BCancer = na.omit(BreastCancer)
d = dim(BCancer)[1]
i1 = seq(1, d, 2)
i2 = seq(2, d, 2)
t1 = BCancer[i1, ]

extracting RGB values from a colorspace class object
Greetings,
After pouring over the documentation for the 'colorspace' package, I have not
been able to figure out how the plot() method converts colorspace coordinates
to RGB values for display on the screen. I am convert between colorspaces
with the various as() methods... but cannot seem to find a way to extract RGB
(i.e. for displaying on a computer screen) triplets from color space

These errors are because not having glusternw assigned to the correct
interface. Once you attach that these errors should go away. This has
nothing to do with the problem you are seeing.
sahina any idea about engine not showing the correct volume info ?

meaning of tests presented in anova(ols(...)) {Design package}
Hi,
I am curious about how to interpret the table produced by
anova(ols(...)), from the Design package. I have a multiple linear
regression model, with some interaction, defined by:
ols(formula = log(ksat * 60 * 60) ~ log(sar) * pol(activity,
3) + log(conc) * pol(sand, 3), data = sm.clean, x = TRUE,
y = TRUE)

nlrq coefficients querry
I have been quantreg library for a number of projects but have just hit a
snag. I am using nlrq to examine an asymptotic relationship between 2
variables at the 99th percentile. It performs as expected, however when I
try to extract the coefficients along with se and significance I am running
into problems. The problem is that for the nlrq regression Dat.nlrq,
summary(Dat.nlrq) reports a different

Xen on two node DRBD cluster with Pacemaker
Hi all,
could somebody point me to what is considered a sound way to offer Xen guests
on a two node DRBD cluster in combination with Pacemaker? I prefer block
devices over images for the DomU''s. I understand that for live migration DRBD
8.3 is needed, but I''m not sure as to what kind of resource
agents/technologies are advised (LVM,cLVM, ...) and what kind of DRBD config

explaining a model with rcs() terms
Hi, I am using the rcs() function in the Design library to model
non-linearity that is not well characterized by an otherwise
mechanistic function. I am able to make the model 'available' to
others through the excellent nomogram() function and the set of tables
that it can create. However, I would like to present the model in an
'expanded' format-- probably what rcspline.restate()

Graphic legend with mathematical symbol, numeric variable and character variable
Hi,
I'd like to make a legend with a mix of mathematical symbol (tau),
numeric variable and character variables.I have tried :
types<-c("Type 1","Type 2","Type 2")
tau<-c(1,3,2)
legend(x="topright",legend=paste(types,"tau=",expression(tau)))
but it doesn't work: the 'tau' symbol is not written in its 'symbol

Solving two nonlinear equations with two knowns
Dear R users,
I have two nonlinear equations, f1(x1,x2)=0 and f2(x1,x2)=0. I try to use optim command by minimize f1^2+f2^2 to find x1 and x2. I found the optimal solution changes when I change initial values. How to solve this?
BTW, I also try to use grid searching. But I have no information on ranges of x1 and x2, respectively.
Any suggestion to solve this question?
Thanks,
Kate

splom, plotmath: how to add three lines of information with alignment?
Dear expeRts,
I would like to create a scatter plot matrix with splom(). The lower panel should
contain some additional information about the samples shown in the upper panel
plot, see the splom() call below. Now two questions came up:
(1) The lower panels show "tau" and "alpha" on top of each other. How can I plot
*three* expressions on top of each other? I tried several

I am trying to compare the estimated coefficients of a quantile regression model between two different samples. plotmath: how to use greek symbols in expression(integral(f(tau)*dtau, 0, t))?
I would like to use greek "tau" as a symbol of variable to integrate
over in plotmath
expression(integral(f(tau)*dtau, 0,t))
but nothing seems to work. I tried d{\tau}, d\tau, etc.,
without any success
Is it possible? How can I accomplish this?
Best regards,
