scaling to multiple data files
Hello, I have logging information for multiple machines, which I am trying to summarize and graph. So far, I process each host individually, but I would like to summarize the user count across multiple hosts. I want to answer the question "how many unique users logged in on a certain day across a group of machines"? I'm not quite sure how to scale the data frame and analysis to

should we do this time-consuming transform in InstCombine?
Hi, There is an opportunity in instCombine for following instruction pattern: %mul = mul nsw i32 %b, %a %cmp = icmp sgt i32 %mul, -1 %sub = sub i32 0, %a %mul2 = mul nsw i32 %sub, %b %cond = select i1 %cmp, i32 %mul, i32 %mul2 Source code for above pattern: return (a*b) >=0 ? (a*b) : -a*b; Currently, llvm(-O3) can not recognize this as abs(a*b). I initially think we could do this in

should we do this time-consuming transform in InstCombine?
Hi Roman, Thanks for your good idea. I think it can solve the abs issue very well. I can continue with my work now^-^. But if it is not abs and there is no select, %res = OP i32 %b, %a %sub = sub i32 0, %b %res2 = OP i32 %sub, %a theoretically, we can still do the following transform for the above pattern: %res2 = OP i32 %sub, %a ==> %res2 = sub i32 0, %res Not sure whether we can do it

Unable to collate and parse R files with R CMD check
Hi all, I'm trying to build a package on Windows 7 (64 bit) and although R cmd build worked fine and I got pkg.tar.gz with no errors, but when I tried doing R CMD check everything turns out ok except for the warning: "checking whether package 'pkg' can be installed ... ERROR. Installation failed." It then refers me to the error file "00install.out" which reads as

Using 'unlist' (incorrectly?!) to collate a series of objects
Dear R Users, I am attempting to write a new netCDF file (using the ncdf) package, using 120 grids I've created and which are held in R's memory. I am reaching the point where I try to put the data into the newly created file, but receive the following error: > put.var.ncdf(evap_file, evap_dims, unlist(noquote(file_list))) Error in put.var.ncdf(evap_file, evap_dims,

filter data frames
Hello! I'm looking for an easy way to filter data frames. Some rows in my data frame needs to be left out, for instance, rows with invalid data. Right now, if I want to pair two columns of this data frame, I have to do this: > pairs(as.data.frame(list(tstart=df$tstart[valid],tend=df$tend.sdr[valid]))) or this: >

Difficulty in writing R code for one pool dynamic model
Hi everyone, I was trying to mode the following exercise using R. The question: Set up a one pool model using numericintegration. The model will run from time 1 to time 30 using a time step of 1.The pool (A) will be fed by flux "inA" at a rate of 5 units per hour anddrained by flux "outA" at a rate of 20% per hour. At time 0, A has 5units. At time 30, what is the pool size of

simple question beginner
  Hi there,   I am beginner in R and I have some basic question. Suppose I run a common procedure such as a t test or cox model like below:   out<-coxph( Surv(tstart,tstop, death1) ~ x1+x1:log(tstop+1) , test1,method=c("breslow"))    Which yields the following result:   Call: coxph(formula = Surv(tstart, tstop, death1) ~ x1 + x1:log(tstop +     1), data = test1, method =

Fitting problem for Cox model with Strata as interaction term
Dear All, I got a warning message "X matrix deemed to be singular" in Cox model with a time dependent coefficient. In my analysis, the variable "SEX" is a categorical variable which violate the PH assumption in Cox. I first used the survSplit() function to break the data set into different time intervals, and then fit the model. The procedures can be described as follows:

Read a text file into R with .Call()
Hi, I want to read a text file into R with .Call(). So I define some NEW_CHARACTER() to store the chracters read and use SET_STRING_ELT to fill the elements. e.g. PROTECT(qNames = NEW_CHARACTER(10000)); char *foo; // This foo holds the string I want. while(foo = readLine(FN)){ SET_STRING_ELT(qNames, i, mkChar(foo))); } In this way, I can get the desired character from qNames. The only problem

Post-processing of approximated irregular time series
Hi all, Issue: I merged two zoo objects (a regular and an irregular). After the merge I used the function 'na.approx' to have also values in the resolution of the regular time series. Problem: After approximation some rows at the beginning or at the end of the zoo objects disappear due to the 'na.approx' algorithm. Now I just want to have all the rows of the regular time series
