Frank Harrell rote in a message dating from Oct 8th: > n.group is an argument to latex.default in the Hmisc package I must admit that I can't find it in the function head, which reads on my installation: function (object, title = first.word(deparse(substitute(object))), file = paste(title, ".tex", sep = ""), append = FALSE, label = title, rowlabel = title,

Convert ftable to latex?
Dear list, I cannot make the latex command to output a ftable objet the way I want it. Is it posible? I found a post in the archives saying that one should use the rgroup and n.rgroup arguments to supply the row names, but so far I have been unsuccessful. This is what I have: >

latex(Hmisc): cgroup + rownames shifts column names
I have submitted this as a bug (http://biostat.mc.vanderbilt.edu/trac/Hmisc/ticket/29) but I am wondering if anyone else has seen it or perhaps developed a workaround. I could certainly fix the LaTeX by hand, but I am using this inside Sweave, so it is a bit cumbersome. The exact same code used to work fine, but something changed underneath it. Even so, perhaps I am using the latex() command

"latex" in Hmisc: cell formating
Hi list, Could you explain the error I see here? Thanks! ## I'm using R 2.8.0 on WinXP, Hmisc_3.4-3 > table1 <- matrix(10, 180,7) > cell.format <- matrix("", ncol=7, nrow=180) > cell.format[c(seq(3,180,6),seq(4,180,6)),] <- "color{red}" > cell.format[c(seq(5,180,6),seq(6,180,6)),] <- "color{green}" > > latex(table1,

Hmisc latex cell background color
Dear latex/R-Sweavers, Using the codel below, I can color text in individual cells for latex output. Is there a similar way to get a background shading? My attempts failed because I did not get the closing brace at the right place with Hmisc/latex. library(Hmisc) x <- as.data.frame(diag(rnorm(3),nrow=3)) cellTex <- matrix(rep("", NROW(x) * NCOL(x)), nrow=NROW(x)) cellTex[2,2]

Backslash in paste() function
Hi, I'm trying to build a vector of latex commands. However, I need the command strings to begin with a backslash "\". I have: test <- c('foo','bar') and I need to rebuild the array, encapsulating the text items with latex stuff, like this: paste("\parbox[b]{3cm}{", test, "}", fill=TRUE) Actually, cat() prints the string fine if one uses

Trouble with Sweave and Beamer
Dear All, I am running Debian testing on my box and I installed latex and R from the standard repositories. I am trying my hands at sweave, but somehow I am experiencing problems (I am trying to use beamer and Sweave). Please see the snippet at the end of the email and saved as report.Rnw. When I run the command $ R CMD Sweave report.Rnw Writing to file report.tex Processing code chunks ...

How to nicely display R code with the LaTeX package 'listings'?
Dear expeRts, What's a 'good' (nice-looking, easy-to-read) setup for the LaTeX package 'listings' to display R code? The two versions below are partly inspired by the settings of the package SweaveListingUtils and http://r.789695.n4.nabble.com/R-How-to-format-R-code-in-LaTex-documents-td816055.html Any suggestions, comments, or improvements are welcome. Cheers, Marius ###

NA's in multiple choice summary table in Hmisc
Hi, I have a set of 30 binary variables measuring side effects after drug treatment. Since each subject can have multiple side effects, I want to display these side effects in a multiple choice table. I'm using the summary and mChoice functions of the Hmisc package, because it produces nicely formatted latex tables. My problem is, that table includes a category for people who have at
