Sweave / Latex per-chapter output
Dear R-help, I am using Sweave and pdflatex to generate a large report from data contained in my database (Postgres via RODBC). Currently, I work with a single R/Sweave file, containing several "chapter" indications for the Latex engine. My master tex file sets the document class, and includes the introduction, the main Sweave file, and a conclusions and reference file. I use a makefile

Sweave Makefile issue
Dear R-specialists, I am trying to create a Makefile that will first convert all my .Rnw files into .tex files and then, that will run the LaTeX compiler to produce a pdf document. This issue has been discussed before. Hence, I've basically adapted a Makefile I found at http://n4.nabble.com/R-Sweave-R-and-complex-latex-projects-td810020.html#a810023 to make it compatible with a Windows

Sweave - if \Sexpr{} than \SweaveInput{"my.Rnw"}
Depending on an R computation I would like to include an Sweave documents in the main Sweave document. How can I do it? So I was thinking .... to use Latex features : \newif\ifpaper \ifpaper \SweaveInput{"my1.Rnw"} \else \SweaveInput{"my2.Rnw"} \fi But how do I set paper to true or false given an \Sexpr ?? \papertrue % or \paperfalse Any ideas? cheers -- Witold

Sweave absolute path versus relative path
Sorry, I should have really started a new thread with this because really it is a new question only loosely related to the first Q. Thanks for the assist. As suggested I switched over to sweave. I have a lot of .tex tables that I > have already created that I was previously inserting into my tex document > (using \input). The journal I plan on submitting to eventually wants the >

Sweave, Texshop, and sync with included Rnw file
Hello everyone. I am in the process of writing a book in Latex with Texshop, on Mac. This book contains a lot of R code, hence the need to use Sweave. I was able to compile Rnw files, and to sync back and forth from the pdf to the source Rnw. My problem now is that the book is divided in Chapters, and every chapter is in its own Rnw file. I can compile them from the main one (book.Rnw) using the

Sweave/ESS-like tools for HTML
My university provides me with a powerful course management system for the courses that I teach. Among other things I can create a wiki for the course, which is very convenient for cross-linking different bits of the course. Naturally I use R extensively in my teaching and I want to incorporate R code, output and graphics in such a wiki. If I were producing LaTeX sources instead of HTML sources

Pkg creation: Sweave: multiple files vignette: Error in R CMD check
Hello R-developers! I am creating a package (using devtools and RStudio) and I would like to split my vignette into multiple Rnw-files. As an example I tried the code from: https://support.rstudio.com/hc/en-us/articles/200486298 (--> Working with multiple Rnw files) The Rnw-files work fine with "Complie pdf" in RStudio as well as with Sweave("Master.Rnw"). But, if I try

SweaveInput and absolute paths
Hi, Is there a way to turn off the automatic inclusion of "./" at the beginning of a path specified in an \SweaveInput{} instruction? I'd like to create some reusable "template modules" of Sweave code and put them in a standard directory like /Resources/Affymetrix Then the corresponding file that uses one of these would include a command like

SweaveInput + keep.source = TRUE trouble
Dear all, I have trouble with R-beta sweaving files that include definitions with \SweaveInput in combination with keep.source = TRUE Symptom: SInput is taken from too far down the input file (the shift is the number of lines of the included file). Is that known? Searching didn't turn up anything, yet I think there are more people than just me using keep.source. Example: $

Sweave and paths
Is there some way to encourage \SweaveInput{foo} to find foo in a subdirectory of a file tree? Something along the lines of the behavior of list.files(<stuff>, recursive=TRUE). This would be very helpful at calling small modular files, such as solution sets and the like. I couldn't see anything in the documentation, and I looked in the source code, but it seems that

cygwin script for Sweave
below is a very simple bash script to run Sweave from a cygwin terminal, run pdflatex on the generated .tex file, and then view the resulting .pdf output. i usually use cygwin when i am (forced to be on) Windoze, but i found a few issues with paths that this script works around. pdfview, used in the script, is simply:

Sweave: looping over mixed R/LaTeX code
Dear guRus, I would like to loop over a medium amount of Sweave code, including both R and LaTeX chunks. Is there any way to do so? As an illustration, can I create a .tex file like this using a loop within a .Rnw file, where the "1,2,3" comes from some iteration variable in R? ################################################ \documentclass{article} \usepackage{Sweave} \begin{document}

\include-mechanism in Sweave?
Dear HelpeRs, I'm very fond of Sweave and I use it as often as possible. It'a a pity I can't use it for larger projects or can I? For instance suppose I have three files file1.rnw, file2.rnw and file3.rnw with Sweave code. Working on file2.rnw I whould like to exclude file1.rnw and file3.rnw temporarily and joining all of them later. This amounts to a mechanism similar to using

Question on Sweave-Latex and examples in the Sweave Manual
Hi List, I have a problem with using Latex and Sweave for creating a document. So I downloaded the Sweave manual from http://www.statistik.lmu.de/~leisch/Sweave/Sweave-manual.pdf and i have tried to replicate the example on pages 4-5, but i encounter the following problem: IT DOES NOT WORK. I can run Sweave, create the .tex file and then when building the .tex file in TeXnikCenter i get all

Understanding the workflow between sweave, R and Latex
Let's say I have written the following tiny .Rnw file: _________________________________________ \documentclass{article} \usepackage[utf8]{inputenc} \usepackage{Sweave} \usepackage{tikz} \usepackage{pgf} \begin{document} <<>>= sessionInfo() @ \end{document} _________________________________________ I then can go to R and use sweave to translate the .Rnw file into a .tex

LaTeX/R/Sweave Problems
Dear All: For a few days now I have struggled with recreating a stable LaTeX/R/Sweave environment on a new Windows XP SP3 machine. Unfortunately it seems that I ran out of good ideas and I would like your expert opinion on how I should approach this task and be successful. In essence, I installed (several times) in this order the following: R2.10.1 (and then R 2.9.2), Adobe Acrobat Reader 9

Sweave and tth
I tried odfWeave to create an OpenOffice file and found that it exhausted the memory of my large linux machine and took a long time to run. LaTeX with Sweave is blazing fast and extremely flexible. Most of the time I can give clients a pdf file. Sometimes I'd like to make Sweave LaTeX files more accessible (and editable) to (gulp) Word users, mainly so they can extract tables and other
