publication statistics from Web of Science
Dear list,
This is a bit of an off-topic question, but I'm hoping to get some
advice from more experienced people. I've used the website "Web of
Science" to manually collect publication counts responding to several
keywords as a function of date, since the 1960s.

ggplot2 problem
Hello all!
I have a problem with ggplot2 library. I want to do an heat map and the y
variables are the year months. If I use the following code, he y values are
in alphabetical order, but I want it in month order.
The code is:
library(reshape)
library(ggplot2)
library(scales)
p <- ggplot(data.m, aes(variable, Month)) + geom_tile(aes(fill = value),

Madogram, rodogram, semi-variogram of satellite imagery
Greetings!
Is there in any package for R which can help me generate madogram, rodogram,
semi-variogram, cross variogram from landsat imagery. I intend to select
portions of large imagery (i.e., obtain subsets) and generate the above said
texture layers. A simple Google search led to me a result suggesting
SpatialExtremes for generating madograms. However I am not sure about its
capability to

randomForest - what is a 'good' pseudo r-squared?
Hi all
I have been trying to use the randomForest package to model insect species abundance in different habitats and identify the key variables (landscape/climate etc) in determining abundance, which has all worked fine and I get nice variable importance plots etc. Many thanks to everyone on this help forum who has given tips/advice along the way.
But the percentage variance explained /pseudo r

Satellite ocean color palette?
Dear List,
Is there a color palette avaliable similar to what is used in satellite ocean color imagery? I.e. a gradient with blue on one end and red on the other, with yellow in the middle? I have tried topo.colors(n) but that comes out more yellow on the end. I am looking for something similar to what is found on the CoastWatch web page:

leap years in temporal series command ts
Hi R community!
I'd like to create a temporal series with ts command for the interval
1st January 2002 - 31 December 2008. I have daily values, so this is a
2557 days temporal series. I'm using this command :
ts(observations, start=2002, end=2009, freq=365)
However, I don't get the correct temporal series since both frequency
(365 OR 366 for leap years) and deltat (1/365 OR

Cross K Ripley's function and "spatio-temporal interaction power"
Dear All,
I have a collections of spatial data. I have to analyze pairs of these
point patterns to test their spatial interaction. I was moving towards
the cross K Ripley's function. The problem, however, are the following:
1) What is the best way to get a single real value that represents the
interaction "power"?
2) How to obtain a value that even allows me to rank the pairwise

Non-Temporal hints from Loop Vectorizer
Hello,
My work deals with non-temporal loads and stores i found non-temporal meta
data in llvm documentation but its not shown in IR.

llvm\test\CodeGen\X86\nontemporal-loads.ll shows how to create nt vector
loads in IR - is that what you're after?

logistic regression with temporal correlation
Hello
We would like to perform a logistic regression analysis weighting the
independent variable in a temporal fashion, i.e. events occuring most
recent get highest weight. Does anyone know how to do this in R??

Spatio-temporal analysis of homicide rates
Dear R-listers,
I would like to carry out a very basic descriptive analysis of homicides
rates in Italy, taking into account both the spatial dimension (103
provinces) and the temporal dimension (10 years), but no covariates. In
practice, what I would like to do is to describe spatio-temporal variation
of homicide rates, identifying those combinations of province-year where

improving vorbis compression with arithmetic coding and by exploiting temporal redundancies
Hi!
If you were looking foe a paper about improving vorbis compression by using
arithmetic coding and exploiting temporal redundancies (i.e. repeating sound)
you might have a look here:
http://web.interware.hu/rudas
Three ogg vorbis files were compressed losslessly, with compression ratios
between 2 - 8 % and compression time about 1/500 realtime (i.e. slow).
Theoretical upper bound of the

I have dataframe a:
sym date val1

I would like to join/merge them to generate the following:

Conversión de objeto temporal (TS) a matriz (o data.frame)
Estimado Rubén Gómez Antolí
En mi caso en particular al trabajar con fechas, me encontré con
inconvenientes, algunos de ellos fueron mejorados en R, hoy estoy
desactualizado, pero creo que en el siguiente lugar
http://cran.r-project.org/web/views/TimeSeries.html hay referencia
actualizada, esperando que en esta encuentre lo que necesite lo saludo muy

temporal evolution and variance after rotation of eof
Dear R users,
I have been doing some eof analysis using princomp function, then the eof
results were rotated with varimax and promax functions. Those functions are
working fine. However, after their uses, I cannot find how to obtain the
temporal evolution and the variance of the obtain components, as varimax and
promax does not have the arguments $scores and $sdev.
