Use of PKG_FFLAGS on Windows
Dear all,
After reading the manuals (especially R-exts) I haven't found
an answer to the following question yet.
I was compiling someone else's Fortran routines to make them
available with R. Hear, I should not that I don't know anything
about Fortran, and I only tried to built a shared library.
Linux being my platform of choice when developing for R, I first
got everything done

S4 class and Package NAMESPACE [NC]
Hello,
I am trying to make a R package with S4 classes. To do so, i do as usual
(when no S4 were involved, i.e without NAMESPACE file) and I've got errors
in class refering to other classes in the package.
So I use a NAMESPACE file to declare classes, it works fine, but now I
have to declare each functions in the NAMESPACE file. Since I have a lot
of functions, it's not very easy.

RE: [R] Rcmd SHLIB problem
Yes, changing line 67 of SHLIB as Uwe suggested worked:
C:\TEMP>Rcmd SHLIB tryf.f
make[1]: `libR.a' is up to date.
rm -f -f tryf.a
ar cr tryf.a *.o
ranlib tryf.a
------- Building tryf.dll from tryf.a --------
echo LIBRARY tryf > tryf.def
echo EXPORTS >> tryf.def
nm tryf.a > Defs
sed -n '/^........ [BCDRT] _/s/^........ [BCDRT] _/ /p' Defs >> tryf.def
rm -f Defs

Problem building a DLL from Fortran 90 source under Windows (with solution)
Hi, All,
I have come across a problem building a DLL from .f90 source (R 2.3.1,
Windows XP). When using the R CMD SHLIB procedure, the DLL itself was
being built, but its export table was empty.
Among the output from R CMD SHLIB the following message appeared:
c:\mingw\bin\nm.exe: 'a.out': No such file
The reason is the empty list of dependencies in the pattern rule for
DLLs

clearing some part of a graph
Hi R lovers
2 questions:
1) I'd like to know how to clean the title, the sub title or the labels of
a graph. I know how to redefine it with the function title() but it
overwrites the previous title and do not replace it
2) How could I clear a whole plot (for example in a multiple figure
environment)
thanks for your help

named list 'start' in fitdistr
Hi R lovers!
I'd like to know how to use the parameter 'start' in the function
fitdistr()
obviously I have to provide the initial value of the parameter to optimize
except in the case of a certain set of given distribution
Indeed according to the help file for fitdistr

defining and plotting functions thanks to equation
Hi R lovers!
Are there any means to define and plot a function given the equation that
specifies the function?
For example I'd like to plot and work with the Gumbel Distribution density
defined by
Lambda(x)=exp(-exp(-x))
My question may appear very simple but I haven't got an idea yet about how
to do that. I could plot something with x a vector/set of value but I don't
know how to

OK thanks
(I added main() {} as per FAQ and I got the dynload to build a dll ok)
I am also interested in building the R sources as per your descriptions.
To simplify things, I have removed b18 cygwin and have now installed
egcs-mingw32 with your djtools as recommended.
Everything seems to work OK; tools that

SHLIB steps on a Makefile
Hi,
I need to create a Makefile.win for a given package so as to fiddle
slightly with the compilation process. My Makefile works fine in Linux
but I am having trouble creating Makefile.win for MinGW. I first
looked at the commands that Rcmd SHLIB appeared to be running and
copied those onto the Makefile. But one step seems to be missing, the
creation of the _res.rc file needed by windres

building a package
Dear R-helpers,
I'm learning how to compile R packages with fortran
routines and use the acepack source as an example.
After some hiccups (Guido told me about the
need to set make_mode=UNIX) I got to the following:
`make pkg-acepack' runs without error (see below),
but it does not
* compile any .f file in acepack/src
* (hence) try to create any dll file or libs

problem customizing CXXFLAGS in Windows
Hi all,
I am running R 2.6.2 in Windows XP with Rtools 2.7 and am trying to compile
a shared library in Windows with customized level of optimization.
Specifically, I would like to have "-O3 -funroll-loops" as flags when I run
"R CMD SHLIB ***.cc" to speed the program for my simulations.
I have read through the documentation and have tried adding the line

RCMD SHLIB == Couldn't reserve space for cygwin's heap, Win32 ?
I've been trying to create/load/call a dll from R-1.8.1 on Windows without
much success. I've been able to at least load the library on FreeBSD
(1.8.1). I've been able to perform this before using DLL that weren't
created using RCMD SHLIB, but simply compiling under MS DevStudio.
C:\optflikam>rcmd shlib --output=optflikam.dll as47.f as197.f flikam.c
