Basic Auth in WEBrick
Yo all,
All I want to accomplish at this moment in time is simple password
protection around a rails application in development using WEBrick on
a custom port. Just one account would be fine.
I have done an extensive Google hunt for an example, but I all find
are code chunks for starting WEBrick such as:
realm = "Gnome realm"
start_webrick {|server|
htpasswd

Fall-Through for link_to_remote?
I see in the document for form_remote_tag a little note about
Javascript:
A "fall-through" target for browsers that doesn?t do JavaScript can
be specified with the :action/:method options on :html
Which works by populating the ACTION html field for the form with a
real URL, not a "#". Great.
Can this be done with link_to_remote as well? I see no similar note

[LLVMdev] possible bug in COFFObjectFile::getSymbolType()
The section is .text, so I assume it’s got IMAGE_SCM_CNT_CODE set. The problem is the symbol is marked (read & execute), but the test is (read & !write), so the symbol gets marked as ST_Data instead of ST_Other.

rjs problems
Hi,
I am having trouble with rjs templates. Basically I want the item_div
to fade if its already open and then display the new item that the
user selected with the visual effect: appear. The code below causes
the browser (firefox on osx) to open the div and then close it again
as soon as it is open:
page.visual_effect :fade, ''item_div'', :duration => 0.5

Mongrel::HttpHandlerPlugin
Hi,
I''m trying to write a file upload monitor for mongrel that uses
juggernaut to alert the browser of a change. I''m writing a plugin that
uses Mongrel::HttpHandlerPlugin but it looks like the only method that
gets called is process and that is only when the upload has finished.
I''m setting the following:
@request_notify = true
But I am still only getting process to

unix gethostbyname for WINS
I know this has been discussed; but I can't seems to find the answer on the
digest server.
Can/How do I provide WINS name resolution for unix machine names ? We are
using WINS on the PC side and /etc/hosts on the unix side. I would like to
have a unix machine respond to WINS queries when it finds the requested name
in it's host file. I have experimented with 'wins proxy',

OpenSSH and Solaris 9/Native LDAP
I am trying to get the latest version of openssh to work on a Solaris 9
native ldap client. We have a feature in ldap called "User must change
password after reset" enabled. According to the openssh docs, it says that
it will work with the "other" accounts listed in the /etc/pam.conf. We have
tried a lot of different entries in the /etc/pam.conf. Does anyone have any

smbmount chooses wrong ip and fails!
Hi,
I'm trying to use smbmount to mount a Windows XP Share.
On the WindowsXP machine I have multiple adapters (due to installing
vmware - www.vmware.com).
By default, these VMWare adapters also bind to "Windows File Sharing".
When smbmount sends a broadcast packet to get the ip address of the host,
it gets back 3 ip addresses as follows:
nmb packet from 192.168.0.120(137)

what's protocol for re-starting samba or NT?
Hi all,
I have samba 1.9 installed ok on a NeXT cube, OpenStep 4.2 on top of UNIX
4.3bsd. Very simple, bare-bones smb.conf file (not included here) not much
different than smb.conf.example; just a private file-system for me and a
printer declared on the UNIX box.
NT sometimes sees the UNIX files and printer; but NT also sometimes fails to
see them. I don't yet know why this

AW: Smbclient bind to IP
I think, it's a good idea to control the binds of the smbclient as it's
possible on smbd.

Bart de Schuymer suggested that this question might be better placed on
this list rather than in the ebtables area. So here it is :

SAMBA digest 1850 (DNS name and netbios name differ)
The default setting for Win95 are to do DNS before WINS. You can try to change
this order to see if this fixes the problem. I clipped the following from the
Technet article - Q139270. It would be easier to disable DNS on a Win95 client
to see if the name resolution order is causing your problem; then do all this
happy stuff...

Smbclient bind to IP
We are running a Sequent unix database server that uses smbclient to print through the NT servers. Our network
has mulitple sites connected via frame relay. Now the problem; we have been attempting to tune the network to
improve database response. And would like to have the smbclient bind to a second IP address on our Sequent box
so we can prioritize traffic based upon the source IP
