Bug in VGAM z value and coefficient ?
Dear,
When i multiply the y of a regression by 10, I would expect that the
coefficient would be multiply by 10 and the z value to stay constant. Here
some reproducible code to support the case.

VGAM constraints-related puzzle

VGAM package released on CRAN

Hi all:
I want to fit a multinomial logit model with VGAM package, however I cannot find a way to check the residuals since
residuals(my_model) and resid(my_model)
does not work.

does multinomial logistic model from multinom (nnet) has logLik?
I want to get the logLik to calculate McFadden.R2 ,ML.R2 and
Cragg.Uhler.R2, but the value from multinom does not have logLik.So my
quetion is : is logLik meaningful to multinomial logistic model from
multinom?If it does, how can I get it?

ps: I konw VGAM has function to get the multinomial logistic model
with logLik, but I prefer use the function from "official" R

Memory problem in multinomial logistic regression

Problems and bugs in vgam()

I have recently run into several problems using vgam() in the VGAM
package. I am hoping someone might have some solutions...
Briefly, I have been trying to fit GAM models for zero-altered negative

NNET conditional Multinomial logit
Please,
could you tell me how to enter a mixed or a purely conditional multinomial logit model in NNET.
I know how to do a multinomial logit in NNET but I don't know how to do conditional or mixed models using this package.
I do know how to do this with VGAM - but would like to compare my results to those obtained by NNET.

multinomial probit
Is there any library for fitting multinomial probit using either likelihood
or the "method of simulated moments" or both.
I presume it would be possible to write a family function in VGAM for the
multinomial probit, but was hoping that someone has done it already.

multinom() and multinomial() interpretation
Hello and thanks in advance for any advice.
I am not clear how, in practice, the multinom() function in nnet and the
multinomial() function in VGAM differ in terms of interpretation. I
understand that they are fit differently. Are there certain scenarios where
one is more appropriate than the other? In my case I have a dependent
variable with 4 categories and 1 binary and 4 continuous

multinomial losgitic regression--vglm()
Dear:
I try to analysis multinomial logistic regression using vglm in VGAM package. However, I wonder how many levels of responses variable this command is suitable. I saw the examples in google search works for 3 levels, say 1,2,3. However, my response variable is more than 3 levels. Is it working for my case or have alternative approach?

Incompatibility with VGAM
I just discovered that when the VGAM package (not on CRAN) is loaded,
glm() doesn't work. This is because VGAM defines a family function()
which gets found
by glm() in place of the family function from stats.
Then VGAM:::family returns an object which doesn't have a $family
component, (it has a component
$vfamily).
I thought namespaces should protect us from this happening?

I want try the vgam function in VGAM library, but I'm stucked since I
can't define the weights. This is because I dont understand well the
concept of "matrix-band" (even after read the reference card).
I was wondering if someone have some tutorial examples of how to define
weights on a matrix form, in VGAM.

P values for vglm(zibinomial) function in VGAM

I know this question has been asked twice in the past but to my knowldege,
it still hasn't been solved.
