bug using matplot (PR#10676)
Full_Name: Anne CORI Version: 2.6.1 OS: windows Submission from: (NULL) (134.157.220.19) let A be a mtrix with n lines and p columns, p>36 ; matplot(A) will only draw the plot of the first 36 columns of A. This is due to a bug in the definition of pch in the function : pch <- c(paste(c(1:9, 0)), letters)[1:k] should be replaced by pch <- c(paste(c(1:9, 0)), letters) I hope this

one problem about how to hold graphic with R
Sorry to disturb you, but can you help me to solve one little problem? I want to draw a graphic after another with R but I cannot find the first one after that. Do you know the command to hold the graphic with R? I remember with Matlab you may use "hold on". Thanks. -- Baohua Yang Email:yangbaohua@gmail.com [[alternative HTML version deleted]]

Dear all, maybe somebody can provide some help for this problem: Example: I've got the following dataframe "data": grid.id<-c(1:4) lat<-c(10,12,13,15) species1<-c(0,0,0,1) species2<-c(1,1,0,0) species3<-c(1,1,1,1) data<-data.frame(cbind(grid.id,lat,species1,species2,species3)) How can I, out of "data" make a new dataframe, where the cells of value

Equivalents of Matlab's 'find' and 'end'
Sorry if these questions have been asked recently--I'm new to this list. I'm primarily a Matlab user who is attempting to learn R and I'm searching for possible equivalents of commands that I found very handy in Matlab. So that I don't seem ungrateful to those who may answer, I HAVE determined ways to carry out these processes in 'brute force' sorts of ways in R code,

matrix creation
Hello, I am trying to create multiple matrices (to run a PVA) but can't import all of them from a .csv without the numbers treated as labels and not factors. Multi-line plots with matrices in R
Hello all, I'm a new user of R, experienced with Octave/MATLAB and therefore struggling a bit with the new syntax. One of the easy things in Octave or MATLAB is to plot multiple lines or sets of points by using a matrix where either the columns or the rows contain the y-values to be plotted. Both packages automatically give each line/points their own unique colour, character etc. I'm

What's the corresponding function in R for lo() function in S-PLUS?
Dear friends, In S-PLUS, we can use the following argument, but not in R. mode12 <- gam(score1 ~ lo(latitude) + lo(longitude)) I searched the help in S-PLUS, it says lo() Allows the user to specify a Loess fit in a GAM formula, but i didn't find the correponding function in R. Anybody knows how to do the similar task in R? Thanks very much. -- With Kind Regards, oooO:::::::::

An ANOVA test that uses a distance matrix like hierarchical cluster analysis?
Hi All, I have a question which does not pertain directly to the use of R but comes from my use of R! I have data which can be described as 3-dimensional e.g. (x,y,z), with no negative component. The suggested way to analyze this data is via multivariate techniques or by calculating what amounts to a levene's test on the data and then an ANOVA on the three components if the first test is
