Enforcing Dovecot Quotas
Hello, I have been looking at enforcing quotas for users of my mail system (postfix and Dovecot v1.2). Have tried to follow a few tuts on the web but its not having the desired effect. Essentially I can still send and receive mail on an account that I believe has had its quota exceeded. In my main.cf, I have: userdb sql { args = /etc/dovecot/mysql/dovecot-mysql.conf } passdb sql {

enforcing multiple per-mailbox quotas for shared mailboxes
Hi! I'm trying to get quotas for shared mailboxes set up on my server. It's not working, and I fail to understand why. Documentation for setup of this complexity is rather scarce on the web, and the discussions I found either don't directly apply or terminate with "I got it working" but no explanation. Can someone please help? The setup is rather lengthy and complicated, so

How can I enforce quotas on roaming user profiles using samba?
I am using a custom configuration of webmin from www.turnkeylinux.org to run a domain controller (basically Ubuntu Server 8.04/Hardy with Samba installed from the repositories). I've set things up so that my users have roaming profiles that they can use at any of the windows clients that are joined to the domain. I'd like to set a disk quota for each user that the windows client would

Samba only quotas?
Is it possible to setup quotas only on the samba level? So samba is enforcing the quotas, but not the underlying OS? I can't seem to find anything in the docs about it.

smbcquotas tells me that "quotas are not enabled"
I have a setup of Ubuntu 8.04 running Samba 3.0.28a. Connected to our network I have a buffalo linkstation acting as Network Attached Storage (NAS), which I have successfully mounted on the local file system. Using smbcquotas I believe I can set up a quota for each user on the NAS. To get started, I run the command: smbcquotas //192.168.1.4/share -S FSQFLAGS:QUOTA_ENABLED -A

Dovecot and quotas

I have configured quotas (just for tests) like this : == dovecot.conf == ... auth default { mechanisms = plain passdb pam { } userdb passwd { } } protocol imap { mail_plugins = quota imap_quota } plugin { # quota = 10 Mb quota = dirsize:storage=10240 } ... ================== Quotas

[PATCH] Deliver doesn't enforce userdb quotas
Hello all, While configuring the latest stable version of Dovecot (1.0.3), I've noticed that "deliver" always uses the quota arguments found in the configuration file, completely ignoring what userdb sends to it through the authentication service. This doesn't happen in the previous version I was used (1.0.rc15, comes with Debian "etch"). After digging a little into

Odd issue with XFS quotas reporting 8192.0EB in use
Hi All, I have this very odd issue where after a migration we have some users who have quotas showing 8192.0EB in use, when in reality on disk there is only a couple hundred megabytes. The host in question is a: * CentOS 6.3 host with mostly latest patches (except latest glibc patches) * running in SELinux Enforcing mode (Permissive doesn't seem to help) * all file systems are on Logical

Understanding filesystem quotas
Hello: I've been trying to set up filesystem quotas for IMAP, and cannot seem to get it to work. In IMAP clients it either shows quota unavailable or unknown. I've read the documentation several times. I've enabled the quota plugins and to my knowledge that part is good. I've edited the file 90-quota.conf and uncommented these lines and set them as follows: plugin { quota_rule

I am using Open Xchange community edition on top of dovecot and tha tis showing the 200MB limit, if I change it in the dovecot.conf the change is reflected in open xchange, but can't figure out how to change for 1 user. Dovecot and quota enforcement - only reporting?
I'm currently setting up postfix and dovecot with virtual users (mysql), imap, and quotas. I'm setting the quotas using mysql. I have quotas working correctly, and I can telnet into the imap server, and submit . getquotaroot inbox and get back valid quota information. I get a maildirsize file in the Maildir directory. Very cool. When I delete mail and expunge it, the quota updates.

Quotas ignored on INBOX only
I have set up postifx and dovecot (1.1) with virtual users and delivery via LDA. I am very pleased with the results so far but have this problem with quotas. ? Setting a global quota using plugin { } I initially used maildir to set quotas, but they seem to apply to all folders apart from INBOX. ? For debugging I switched maildir to dict using mysql. The table populates as it should with sizes and

Filesystem quotas
I could not determine if when using filesystem quotas (http://wiki2.dovecot.org/Quota/FS) Dovecot will use the reported quota and limits without the need of configuring them via "quota_rules". Is this possible somehow? Such a feature would determine the quota limits automatically from the filesystem quotas thereby allowing to make use of them in quota warnings. Dovecot already knows

Gluster quotas, NFS quotas, brick quotas, quota-tools
Hi, I'd like to try to migrate our NFS-based network to gluster, for replication. We currently use an ext4 filesystem with quota enabled. We have a couple thousand users (over LDAP), and their quotas vary wildly. We manage them with edquota(8) on the NFS server. There are many services which mount the NFS filesystem, and parse the output of /usr/bin/quota (a webmail, two mail servers,
