unable to compile llvm with gcc 4.7.4
Why is it more important to be backward compatible with ancient versions of GCC than relatively more recent versions of Visual Studio? We are removing support for VS2013 because of defects in that product, yet GCC v4.7.x is more ancient than VS2013, so why should the answer be any different?

Ok, the authors of the targetted code need to proceed to a re-design of their
code regarding the use of c++ features.

unable to compile llvm with gcc 4.7.4
Hi,
The problem is modern c++. I can have a reasonable system boostrape-ed
with (tinycc/alternative C compiler), but only in the gcc world since
a modern c++ compiler is only bootsrape-able from near any C compiler
there. clang and llvm are unable to do it. That why I would need to
get 2 gccs: "any C compiler" -> gcc 4.7.4 -> gcc recent_version ->
llvm.

26sec kame ipsec tunnel : packets leave unencrypted...
Hi everyone,
First of all, this is my first post in this ML, so I''m not sure that this
is the right place for my question (please don''t shoot me down ;)). For
the record, I''ve been reading and using LARTC for almost 3 years now, and
it''s a great help for anyone who wants to learn linux networking.
My problem:
I want to setup a tunnel for the following

Sum weights of independent variables across models (AIC)
Hello,
I'd like to sum the weights of each independent variable across linear
models that have been evaluated using AIC.
For example:

There are 5 models with a Delta AIC Score of

delta AIC for models with 2 variables using MuMIn
Dear List,
I want to ask a AIC question based on package library(MuMIn)
The relative importance of 16 explanatory variables
are assessed using delta AIC in a generalized linear model.
Please kindly advise if it is possible to show models
with any two only certain variables.
Thank you.

I asked a similar question and got a great help for models
with only one variable as below.

DIfference between weights options in lm GLm and gls.
Dear R-List users,
Can anyone explain exactly the difference between Weights options in lm glm
and gls?
I try the following codes, but the results are different.

Call:
lm(formula = y ~ x)
Coefficients:
(Intercept) x
0.1183 7.3075

Call:
lm(formula = y ~ x, weights = W)

Re : noob question :)
Wine changes dozens of files to run properly.
Last week a user couldnt login anymore his Windows XP after doing that.
Btw, as you say world of warcraft doesnt use registry and is well known to work on wine too
by copying the whole directory.
I suggest you to do that.
Its just a few megabytes of disk space versus a possibly unusable windows xp.
Kind regards,

Command Prompt Question
Could someone please tell me how to stop the package/function name from
being included before the command prompt? This started happening today
after I made some changes to my Rprofile.site file and I don't know why.
For example: if I enter example(AIC), instead of just getting the
regular '>' before each output line, I get 'AIC>' instead. I only want

how to selection model by BIC
Hi All:
the package "MuMIn" can be used to select the model based on AIC or AICc.
The code is as follows:
data(Cement)
lm1 <- lm(y ~ ., data = Cement)
dd <- dredge(lm1,rank="AIC")
print(dd)
If I want to select the model by BIC, what code do I need to use? And when
to select the best model based on AIC, what the differences between the

question about trailing arguments in an S4 method
I'm trying to add arguments to the AIC method
for some classes -- things like
weights=TRUE to calculate AIC weights
corr=TRUE, nobs to calculate AICc
delta=TRUE to put a delta-AIC column in the output.
The problem is that AIC is defined as
AIC(object, ..., k=2) where k is the constant associated
with the penalty term and ... is a list of objects
that will have their AICs calculated

AIC v. extractAIC
Hello,
I am using a simple linear model and I would like to get an AIC value. I
came across both AIC() and extractAIC() and I am not sure which is best to
use. I assumed that I should use AIC for a glm and extractAIC() for lm,
but if I run my model in glm the AIC value is the same if I use AIC() on an
lm object. What might be going on? Did I interpret these functions
incorrectly?
Thanks,
