[HH] extending ancova function for 2 factors
Hi,
what would be a good way of enhancing the ancova function from the HH
package when using a 2 factor ANCOVA?
The current behaviour for the "ancova" function from package HH is:
----------------------------------------------
| P1 || P1 || P3 || P4 | | PS | <- the lattice strip

HH.EXE location
This is related to my post about .chm where vitamin set me on the right path.
http://forum.winehq.org/viewtopic.php?t=1026
Since then I reinstalled Ubuntu 8.04 and wine.
While perusing the virgin registry I noticed the chm.file ...command key was: C:\windows\system32\hh.exe %1
There is no hh.exe located in that directory. The hh.exe file is located in the C:\windows\ directory.
If wine uses the

Converting time from HH:MM:SS to only HH:MM
Hi all,
I need to compare between times and put all similar times in specific
1 minute bins.
Unfortunately the original data include seconds as well.
My data is in HH:MM:SS format but I need it rounded to only HH:MM and
trying in Excel to display "unique" records only does not work since
the seconds are not unique.
Is there an easy way using perhaps CHRON to change all from the

Viewing .CHM files with hh.exe from command line
I would like to be able to start the Wine .chm file-viewer, C:\windows\hh.exe, from the command-line like this:
wine hh.exe /some/dir/somefile.chm
It works if the current directory contains the .chm file, but not if I have to specify a path.

Help with charting time in seconds as HH:MM:SS on charts
Hello,
I am dealing with data stored in a database as a 'time' object. I
export the data from the database to a text file and utilize the
'time_to_sec()' function of the database to convert the human readable
time (HH:MM:SS) to seconds so that I can use R to do analysis and
create charts of the data. I do not need or use days or dates in the
data, and the data range is from

Offtopic, HT vs. HH in coin flips
Dear R-help,
Could someone please try to explain this paradox to me? What is more likely to show up first in a string of coin tosses, "Heads then Tails", or "Heads then Heads"?
##generate 2500 strings of random coin flips

Revised Rcmdr.HH package
I posted a revised Rcmdr.HH_1.8-0 package on CRAN.
The Rcmdr.HH package adds additional menu items to the Rcmdr package by
John Fox. Our introductory course at Temple University includes several
topics that were not addressed in the Rcmdr. This revision uses the new
RcmdrPlugin technology that John announced a few days ago.

Full_Name: Yasuhiro Nakajima

The rsync daemon as a gateway service?
In rsyncd.conf I'd like to be able to specify something like:
[module1]
gateway 10.168.172.9
or (I think we have to change the protocol a little for this one):
[module2]
redirect datasource.my.domain
I've run into this need a few times, and I think it might be useful
enough to add (both of these) to the daemon configuration. I'm asking
the list to see if either of these might

Your message Re: Samba and printer comments (July 5 1999)
Yes unfortunately I do not have much luck recieving help from the SAMBA
mailing list.
After much playing I found something weird that was seemingly causing
incorrect comments. Most printers would recieve the comment - "no
entries" which originally I assumed to be the default comment given by
Win95 when it could not get a proper comment. However I later found
that this is not the case.

how to create analog stripchart plots of x vs t (t=mm/dd/yyyy hh:mm:ss)
Hello r-experts,
I sure could us a little help.
I have an ever updating text file with timestamped data in it. I can
reformat in anyway I want if need be but currently I have chosen to make
columns of date, time and measuresed value (comma delimeted and with the
dates and times in quotes to interpret them as strings).
Here is a small section of my text data file:

Two "pre-migration" questions
I have read the migration docs. They seem to relate to migrating from one
imap product to dovecot on the same server. I'm interested in migrating my
Maildir-formatted email from one server to another.
1. Can I tar my ~/mail directory on serverX.com, untar it on a different
physical serverY.com (initially with a different domain name), and still see
my mail when I access imap.serverY.com

In Place Editor and Empty Fields
So, the InPlaceEditor with AJAX is all nice and dandy, works great.
What about fields that don''t have any content? As far as I can tell, this
doesn''t work so well - there''s nothing to click on so no edit form pops
up...

lattice grayscale "theme"
Hi,
is there a grayscale setting for lattice plots?
I like the default color settings. I also like the settings that are
available for setting black and white with something like this:

ltheme <- canonical.theme(color = FALSE) ## in-built B&W theme
ltheme$strip.background$col <- "transparent" ##
