Technical problem
Hello,
Instead of receiving only one message when somebody send a question or a
answer,
I receive 2 messages with exactly the same contents inside.
Is it the same for you?
Thank you,

reference classes, LAZY_DUPLICATE_OK, and external pointers
We (the lme4 authors) are having a problem with doing a proper deep
copy of a reference class object in recent versions of R-devel with
the LAZY_DUPLICATE_OK flag in src/main/bind.c enabled.
Apologies in advance for any improper terminology.
TL;DR Is there an elegant way to force non-lazy/deep copying in our
case? Is anyone else using reference classes with a field that is an
external pointer?

Problems using allEffects() (package effect)
Dear R users,
I have some trouble using the allEffects() function to compute and
display effect plots for a linear model.
My data is quite simple, it concerns effects of 3 treatments on the
tumoral volume of mice. vTum codes for the qualitative initial volume,
from small to big, temps is the time in month since beginning of
treatment, and S?rie codes for the batch. Data is unbalanced.

[PATCH] Support cross-bitness guest when core-dumping
This patch allows core-dumping to work on a cross-bit host/guest configuration, whereas previously that was not supported. It supports both PV and FV guests. The core file format generated by the host, needs to match that of the guest, so an alignment issue is addressed, along with the p2m frame list handling being done according to the guest size.

multiple nls - next fit even after convergence problem
Hello R-gurus,
I'm trying to adjust different growth curves to a rather extensive dataset.
I wrote up a function to go through all of them, but am encountering a problem :
among the more than 1000 curves I have, obviously for some of them I encounter conversion problems.
I'd like for my function to keep going to the next curve and store the fact that for curve number X I had a convergence

Is it possible to lower the domain and forest functional level
I don't know exactly, but there were problems with indexes ( as the user said ).
We did not try with the current release and our manager wants to go back to Microsoft :-(
Our samba version is 4.7.5.
I've been able to go one step further. We first were not able to join a Windows 2008 R2 as a domain controller because it was asking for adprep.
I found the missing datas in the ldap and added

Is it possible to lower the domain and forest functional level
Hi Denis,
We are using the latest version of sharepoint.
samba-tool domain level show :
Domain and forest function level for domain 'DC=removed,DC=com'
Forest function level: (Windows) 2008 R2
Domain function level: (Windows) 2008 R2
Lowest function level of a DC: (Windows) 2008 R2
I did not have to change the revision attributes by hand.
I think the MSAD2K3 was an upgrade from MSAD2K.

Is it possible to lower the domain and forest functional level
Hello all,
We have a samba 4 domain controller.
The domain controller was at first a secondary domain controller.
We joined it to a domain were the first controller was a windows 2003 server.
Then we have transfer the fsmo roles to the linux controller and demote the 2003 server.
I then ran all the ldf files from the 2008 R2 dcpromo and raised the functional levels.
Now we need to go back to

Persistent connections to Samba in Windows
Hi
I am setting up samba to allow me and my collegues to share files between
us.
The Samba server isn't running as a domain controller or uses LDAP. I use
the local linux accounts and Samba accounts.
The problem i have is getting the shares to be truly persistent. What I mean
is that when I map a network drive, add my user/pass and check the
'reconnect at logon' box, the drive

RFC: Add a preprocessor to yaml2obj (and other YAML tools)
?The idea itself is indeed good.
Regarding to escaping: I think we should have it.
Imagine the following example (I've took it from D73828).

FileHeader:
Class: ELFCLASS[[BITS]]
Data: ELFDATA2LSB
Type: ET_EXEC
Machine: EM_386
# RUN: yaml2obj %s --docnum=4 -D BITS=32 -o %t-32bit.o
# RUN: yaml2obj %s --docnum=4 -D BITS=64 -o %t-64bit.o

Is it possible to lower the domain and forest functional level
Hello Denis,
I checked all the attributes and objectclass defined in
/usr/share/samba/setup/ad-schema/MS-AD_Schema_2K8_R2_Attributes.txt
and /usr/share/samba/setup/ad-schema/MS-AD_Schema_2K8_R2_Classes.txt
exists in my samba 4 ldap.
Nothing is missing.
Can you give me some inputs to "recreate a Samba 4.7 domain with same SID by piping in all the objects" ?

formula substitution by its calculated value
Dear R_Users,
I am confronted to a technical issue that I wouldn't even know how to start to handle and where to look at. It is about data manipulation in a dataframe and value substitution
Imagine I have a matrix describing a set of chemical equations.
Colnames are Components names and Rownames are Reaction names
Each cell in that matrix corresponds to the stoechiometric coefficient to the

Minimization/Optimization under functional constraints
Hi,
I hope someone can help me with the following issue.
I need find the minimum beta that satisfies the following:
inf{beta>0 | f(x+beta*f(x))*f(x)<=0}
where f() is a function and x is a sample statistic.
Functions such as "nlminb" and "constrOptim" minimize a function and output
the parameter (under parameter constraints). I need to minimize the
parameter (also

[PATCH] Unified lguest launcher
This is a new version of the unified lguest launcher that applies to
the current tree. According to rusty's suggestion, I'm bothering less
to be able to load 32 bit kernels on 64-bit machines: changing the
launcher for such case would be the easy part! In the absence of
further objections, I'll commit it.
