weird error with rake create_sessions_table
Hi all, Despite switching to mod_fcgid (which has improved performance), sessions are still expiring sporadically. I thought I might try switching to storing them in the db, but I get the following error when I try to run the rake create_sessions_table command D:\User\Code\ruby\prometheus>rake create_sessions_table (in D:/User/Code/ruby/prometheus) rake aborted! undefined local variable or

advice needed: damagecontrol or CIA?
Hi, I''m looking to set up a continuous integration server for a rails application. This application is under source control with darcs. I''ve read about damagecontrol and CIA, and wonder what experience you can share so I can make my mind. CIA seems to work with a post-commit so I should be able to use it with darcs. And as it is in the rails svn repository, I have good hope

DamageControl
Is there anyone on this list running DamageControl on a Debian or a Windows system ? If so would you care to share how you accomplished this (details ... it''s all in the details) ? While I will still work through the problems I am encountering (it''s a great learning experience) I would still like to have a working instance of DamageControl to use in the meantime. I am

lock problems from concurrent processes.
Hi! First, thanks a LOT for ferret. The API and documentation is great. I''m trying to integrate ferret into a RoR app (DamageControl) and have run into a problem with locks. DamageControl consists of two processes that start up and run in parallel. The first one is the webapp (which is just a plain RoR app). The second is a daemon process that runs in the background. The daemon process

tests fine, but fail under rake
Hi there, So I have an odd error at the moment that only occurs when I run tests via rake. It''s happening with two tests now. Under a simple ruby run, the tests are fine, e.g.: D:\User\Code\ruby\prometheus>ruby test\functional\story_comments_controller_test .rb Loaded suite test/functional/story_comments_controller_test Started ......... Finished in 2.37 seconds. 9 tests, 65

script.aculo.us 1.5_pre4
Today marks the release of script.aculo.us 1.5_pre4 The single biggest addition are the new effects queue and the text effects. Head to http://script.aculo.us/__trunk_test/test/ run_functional_tests.html and give "effects_queue" and "texteffects_test.html" a try. As always, loads of fixes and improvements. Licensing question
I''m considering using rubytorrent as the transport in a distributed build system. (DamageControl - a rails-based continuous integration server similar to buildbot - http://buildbot.sourceforge.net/ and bitten - http://bitten.cmlenz.net/) DamageControl is going to be licensed under a BSD license, so I was wondering if you''d consider providing a dual license for rubytorrent that

Problem with 1.2 and sieve: failed with unsuccessful implicit keep
Hi, First, thanks for this awesome piece of software. I've just upgraded to latest dovecot, aka 1.2. I've a problem. I've started using Sieve, and everything works fine, I already received a thousand of mails without any problem. However, there's one mail which is stuck in the postfix queue because of that: Jul 8 18:47:51 prometheus dovecot: deliver(jd at danjou.info):

Asterisk and Prometheus
Hello, I've seen that Asterisk 17 supports Prometheus but beside [1], I've not much about how to use this. Can someone shed some light on this ? 1. If I'm not mistaken, Prometheus favors "a pull model over HTTP". So basically, a Prometheus instance should be able to query Asterisk "core metrics", right ? 2. Is there an exhaustive list of those "core

[mod_fcgid] 503 server temporarily unavailable
Hi There, Every now and then, and recently more and more we get a "503 server temporarily unavailable" error from our rails app. We are running Rails 1.0 with mod_fcgid in Apache 2.0.54 on Debian The thing is I don''t think we have such a heavy load on the server, and I haven''t seen this error occur at all outside the rails app. In fact I don''t think I ever

[Gluster-devel] Gluster Health Report tool
Hi, since people are suggesting nagios then I can't resist suggesting exporting the metrics in the prometheus format, or at least making the project into a library so https://github.com/prometheus/client_python could be used to export the prometheus metrics. There has been an attempt at https://github.com/ofesseler/gluster_exporter but it is not maintained anymore. Cheers, Marcin On Wed,

Strange file upload error
Hi There, So we are having this really strange file upload error. We can upload a file to rails, store it in the DB, and download it again all fine. We also have things set up to allow us to edit the file, and upload a new one to replace the existing file. This functionality works just fine for text files, but fails for microsoft word and PDF files. It''s really strange; we''re

As I mentioned, I got the instances to launch... but they're only taking HugePages from "Node 0", when I believe my setup should pull from both nodes. Re: HugePages - can't start guest that requires them
First I'll quickly summarize my understanding of how to configure numa... In "//memoryBacking/hugepages/page[@nodeset]" I am telling libvirt to use hugepages for the guest, and to get those hugepages from a particular host NUMA node. In "//numatune/memory[@nodeset]" I am telling libvirt to pin the memory allocation to the guest from a particular host numa node. In

indexing source code
Hi again, I''m using ferret to index source code - DamageControl will allow users to search for text in source code. Currently I''m using the default index with no custom analyzer (I''m using the StandardAnalyzer). Do you have any recommendations about how to write an analyzer that will index source code in a more ''optimal'' way? I.e. disregard common
