AIC and logLik for logistic regression in R and S-PLUS
Dear R users, I am using 'R' version 2.2.1 and 'S-PLUS' version 6.0; and I loaded the MASS library in 'S-PLUS'. I am running a logistic regression using glm: --------------------------------------------------------------------------- > mydata.glm<-glm(COMU~MeanPycUpT+MeanPycUpS, family=binomial, data=mydata)

Ben Bolker's '‘emdbook’ Package , rbetabinom
Hello, I am using rbetabinom ( to generate beta binomial random variables) function available in the "emdbook"package written by Professor. Ben Bolker for my research study. I have no questions with this function. However, I am looking for the theoretical method/algorithm of the function "rbetabinom " . Quasi-poisson glm and calculating a qAIC and qAICc...trying to modilfy Bolker et al. 2009 function to work for a glm model
Sorry about re-posting this, it never went out to the mailing list when I posted this to r-help forum on Nabble and was pending for a few days, now that I am subscribe to the mailing list I hope that this goes out: I've been a viewer of this forum for a while and it has helped out a lot, but this is my first time posting something. I am running glm models for richness and abundances. For

[Bug 13317] rsync returns success when target filesystem is full
https://bugzilla.samba.org/show_bug.cgi?id=13317 --- Comment #6 from Rui DeSousa <rui.desousa at icloud.com> --- (In reply to Rui DeSousa from comment #5) It looks like no error is returned and result is a sparse file. I think a sync() would be required otherwise the file is truncated on close to meet the quota. [postgres at hades ~]$ df -h arch Filesystem Size Used

AstriDevCon 2014: Agenda item Deprecate AMI/AGI (Ben Klang)
Really? Shouldn?t something this major affecting the entire Asterisk community get discussed on the lists? Any idea what Leif is talking about when he says the community is in transition, moving from dial plan model to external control? Here?s a link to the notes posted on the Asterisk wiki: https://wiki.asterisk.org/wiki/display/AST/AstriDevCon+2014

Asterisk on Ben NanoNote?
Hello I just read an article on the tiny Ben NanoNote: http://en.qi-hardware.com/wiki/Ben_NanoNote As CPU, it uses a "JZ4720 366 MHz MIPS compatible processor from Ingenic Semiconductor Co", and it runs Linux. Does someone know if Asterisk has been ported to that platform? Thank you.

strange logLik results in gls (nlme)
I am trying to analyse a data with gls/lm using the following set of models prcn.0.lm <- lm( log10(Y)~(cond-1)+(cond-1):t ,prcn) prcn.1.gls <- gls( log10(Y)~(cond-1)+(cond-1):t ,prcn,cor=corAR1()) prcn.0.gls <- gls( log10(Y)~(cond-1)+(cond-1):t ,prcn) prcn.1m.gls <- gls( log10(Y)~(cond-1)+(cond-1):t ,prcn,cor=corAR1(),method="ML") I get the following AICs for these models:

Function for AIC or logLIK for nlsList object
Dear R users, Does anybody have a function to calculate logLik or AIC for nlsList objects? After receiving error messages, another user helped me ascertain that this function is not currently written into R. Many thanks Lindsay

possible inconsistency in nlme logLik or me
Hello, I am comparing 2 nonlinear models one with a correlation structure. I used the gnls command in the nlme package to fit model 1 and then the update(mod1,corr=corExp(form=~lat+lon,nugget=T) to fit the same model but with a correlation structure. I am comparing models using AIC, but I am getting results that don't seem to match. I get matching results for the model with no correlation

logLik calculations
Does the ?logLik? function applied to a ?glm? and ?glm.nb? (from MASS package) calculate the complete log-likelihoods, or does it drop the constant terms of the equation? (It?s not clear from the associated help pages, and I?ve found no reference from searching the R help mailing list) Thank you, Kelly Young

logLik calculation in gls (nlme)
I'm getting some odd results computing log-likelihoods with gls using splines with increasing degrees of freedom -- the deviance *increases* substantially with increasing df. (Since spline models with increasing df aren't nested, it need not decline monotonically but I would expect it to have a decreasing trend!) I may just be confused, but I *think* the issue is somewhere within the

LogLik of nls
Hello there, Can anyone point me to the code for logLik of an nls object? I found the code for logLik of an lm but could not find exactly what function is used for calculating the logLik of nls function? I am using the nls to fit the following model to data - Model 1: y ~ Ae^(-mx) + Be^(-nx) +c and want to understand what is the likelihood function used by nls. Presumably it is using -

glmmPQL error in logLik.reStruct
Dear R users, I'm attempting to fit a GLM with random effects using the tweedie family for the error structure. I'm getting the error: iteration 1 Error in logLik.reStruct(object, conLin) : NA/NaN/Inf in foreign function call (arg 3) I'm running V2.1.0 I notice from searching the lists that the same error was reported in May 2004 by Spencer Graves, but no-one was able to
