Building Packages with AnnBuilder
Hi there.
I got some Problems building an Annotation-Package with AnnBuilder.
Not using the function ABPkgBuilder(), but just parts of it to create a
package without connecting to the servers, I managed to create a Package,
but it seems to be empty. R recognizes it as a package, but is unable to
load it.
The form of the data is in a correct form, I got an example-annotation-file

For the record, this looks like the older generation of streamTranscoder
(0.x/1.x).

gene ontology association
Hello! I don't know if there is some R-package able
to associate ontology to a long list of GeneBank Name (a txt-tab file or
an XML file), i.e.
I would as output a formatted file with 4 columns (1:GeneBank Name
2,3,4:ontology).
I know that I have to perform a mapping of genes, I got a look on
AnnBuilder pkg,
but I 've not idea from where to start.
Some suggestion? Thanks in advance!

R-1.6.0
I have build R-1.6.0 on Jaguar (actually on 10.2.2), using gcc 3.1
from Apple, g77 3.1 from fink, ATLAS from fink. It passes all
checks OK.
I also re-compiled the 233 packages listed below
with the same setup. I have NOT tested all these
packages in any detail. A tar.gz file with the whole /usr/local/lib/R
will be on ftp://gifi.stat.ucla.edu on Tuesday. It will NOT include
anything from fink

trouble installing building packages from source using R 2.6.0 on Ubuntu Gutsy AMD64
I have recently upgraded to Ubuntu Gutsy and, for the first time, am
using a 64-bit installation. After failing miserably to install R from
source, not a problem for me in the past with a 32-bit install, I went
the route of using the Debian Etch build. This went smoothly, but I am
unable to update my numerous R and BioConductor packages, getting
non-zero exit status errors on each package. Is

Partial comparison in string vector
Hi list members
I have a vector of strings
x=c("w","ex","ee")
And I want to get a logical vector showing the positions where my search
string "e" matches the elements partially, i.e. is at least the left-hand
part of the target strings, i.e. I want to get a vector FALSE TRUE TRUE.
Any ideas?
Thanks

SAX Parser best practise
Dear All,
I have a question regarding best practise in setting up a XML parser
within R.
Because I have files with more than 100 MB and I'm only interested in
some values I think a SAX-like parser using xmlEventParse() will be the
best solution.
Unfortunately the values I'm looking for, to construct some higher "mass
spectrum", are distributed over different lines: as

Adress Book Integration?
Has anyone dabbled with OS X Address Book integration? It seems like a
simple enough protocol must be at work there for sharing addresses over
.Mac accounts. It would be great for clients to be able to enter their
contacts into address book and have them brought automatically into
their Ruby on Rails app, and perhaps vice versa. I''ve just started
looking into this and at the

source policy routing and SNAT - wrong hardware adress
Hi,
when using diffrent routing tables, outgoing packets after SNAT always have
hw-adresses as if the packed was coming from my machine. So a forwarded
packet to default gw x on eth0 gets hw-adresses as if the same packet with
origin loopback was routed to default gw y on network wlan0 which is
diffrent.
I do "ip rule add iif lo table mine" and some "ip route add ... table

Sorry for my english, it's so lala ... because I'm a German.
I would like to install a 3D cad programm called Pro/Engineer 4.0 in Wine 1.3.10.
I have Wildfire 3.0 running under Ubuntu, but I need to install Wildfire 4.0 version. Wildfire 3.0 was the last Linux version, all newer versions are only for Windows and Unix, but Unix support will also end with Wildfire 6.0.

cut ip adress from caller id number display (ci$co 7941)
I'm playing with phone ci$co 7941 with sip image (8.02SR1),
strange is, that phone displays caller id number with ip address of
asterisk server like "8210@172.20.24.11"
I think, this is some bug in firmware, but I would like to find some
workaround,
maybe using SIP_HEADER function, but seems, that this can be used only
when calling from SIP to SIP,
i.e. not possible to use

Getting source ip adress of incoming INVITE
I'm interested in finding out what the source ip is of an invite in the
dialplan (Asterisk 11). As far as I can see this information isn't
accessible. The only solution I can think of is parsing either
Record-Route or Via headers. This is for recognizing "guests" in the
default context for sip.
