Bug in Version 2.80? (PR#13243)
Hi When I have a plot under Windows and want to save it as a ps or jpg using right click, the window for choosing the directory opens. But if I want to choose a directory R freezes. This happens on my XP notebook as well on my P x64 machine. Sweave and LaTeX
Hi I started using Sweave and LaTeX but have a (smaller) problem. As I am not yet very fluent in LaTeX I do the following: I texify my snw-file to look for errors in my LaTeX and correct them. However, if I have the following chunk, I get an error when texifying: ... \usepackage{Sweave} ... <<echo=F, results=tex>>=

xtable and sweave: caption placement problem
Dear All I am running Sweave with xtable and want to put the caption placement on top. But this does not work. Any idea what is going wrong? Here is an example that runs properly with the exception of the caption placement in the pdf-file. \documentclass[11pt,a4paper]{article} \usepackage{Sweave} \begin{document} <<>>= x = runif(100, 1, 10) y = 2 + 3 * x + rnorm(100)

Interfacing between Optimization Software and R
Dear all I was wondering, if there are reasons for R-Users to use (commercial) solver packages like GAMS, AMPL, Matlab, etc. These packages can solve all kind of mathematical optimization problems like (non-) linear problems, mixed complementarity problems, etc. Why I want to know? GAMS corporation developed a R package to send data from GAMS to R (or vice versa). It is called gdxrxw. I use

SIP proxy screwing up peer addresses.
Hello, I am trying to test-call my own asterisk server to see if I can receive SIP calls properly. I use a softphone to call the SIP address, and because twinkle doesn't support SRV records, I go via a proxy. When the call comes in, asterisk says: handle_request_invite: Sending fake auth rejection for user "martin f. krafft" <sip:xxxxxxxxxxxxxxxx at

general advice sought
I'd like to hear the thoughts of list members on which type of storage method seems "best" for inboxes and for folders. The filesystem is GFS2 and for various reasons I can't change it. Inboxes - currently Mbox format. Some users have upwards of 5000 messages in there (the largest is about 18k entries) and thanks to attachments some inboxes are 40-200Mb with a few sitting at

[CC to Debian package maintainer] Hi there, I'm still experiencing this worrysome tdb corruption even after I upgraded to 2.2.5. I built this package myself from the officially released 2.2.5 source. Is Cortado dead?
-----BEGIN PGP SIGNED MESSAGE----- Hash: SHA512 I am really interested in an alternative to the widely used flash video-players. itheora does a really good job by integrating cortado in an easy to use framework to allow the user to play the file either in his own media player or the cortado applet. But the actual version of Cortado has a really grave bug that makes playing some videos with java

where is subscribed list stored?
I'm using $ /usr/sbin/dovecot --version 2.0.15 on $ cat /etc/fedora-release Fedora release 14 (Laughlin) and version 8 of Thunderbird. I use dovecot locally for internal only access to my email archives, of which I have many gigs of email archives. Over time I end up subscribing to a couple dozen different IMAP email folders. Problem is that periodically my list of subscribed folders

Some questions to GLMM
Hello all R-user I am relative new to the R-environment and also to GLMM, so please don't be irritated if some questions don't make sense. I am using R 2.0.0 on Windows 2000. I investigated the occurrence of insects (count) in different parts of different plants (plantid) and recorded as well some characteristics of the plant parts (e.g. thickness). It is an unbalanced design with 21
