Gaussian mixture models, modelNames: EEV, VEV mclust2002
Hello, I am using the parameterized EM- Algorithm in clustering context. I use generated datasets, containing 5000 points in 20 dimensions with 5 clusters. The following poses a problem for me: emEst<-me(modelName="EEV",data=data[,1:numDimensions],z=unmap(x)) emEst<-me(modelName="VEV",data=data[,1:numDimensions],z=unmap(x)) coordProj(main="Model

Problem with Mclust
Dear All, I fear I am badly misunderstanding something fundamental about the mclust package. Please considered the dataset pasted at the end of the email (you can also have a look at http://dl.dropbox.com/u/5685598/dataedges.csv ). Now, I would like to use the info on columns 1,2 and 4 to predict the value in column 3. However, when I run the script below (obg_mining_script.R), I get

Deploying another application as subdomain
Let''s say that I have an application up and running at http://eii.com I and developing another application that is complimentary to eii.com and have decided to serve that application using http://services.eii.com Now this is a totally different application but is useful to the people visiting eii.com site. This new application has it''s own database and own source code. My

MCLUST Covariance Parameterization.
Hello all (especially MCLUS users). I'm trying to make use of the MCLUST package by C. Fraley and A. Raftery. My problem is trying to figure out how the (model) identifier (e.g, EII, VII, VVI, etc.) relates to the covariance matrix. The parameterization of the covariance matrix makes use of the method of decomposition in Banfield and Rraftery (1993) and Fraley and Raftery (2002) where

Subsets in mclust
Dear group, I want to use the mclust package on large data, and therefore I want to use a subset in the initial clustering phase. From help(mclust): k: If `k' is specified, the hierarchical clustering phase will use a sample of size `k' of the data in the initial hierarchical clustering phase. The default is to use the entire data set. m2 is a

[LLVMdev] Update information about Jade project
Hi everybody, We work for a few week to update our project Jade (Just-In-Time Adaptive Decoder Engine) already referenced on "LLVM Projects" page (http://llvm.org/ProjectsWithLLVM/#jade). After some updates, we are able to compile Jade with the upcoming LLVM version. I want to ask you if it is possible to update the first link for the Jade project on ProjectsWithLLVM page, since it

UDP over SSH
Hi! I have small question. Are there plans to include UDP port forwarding in OpenSSH? Lastly I have modified OpenSSH 3.4 both demon and client to support that kind of functionality. Waiting for answers Greets, Liquid --------------r-e-k-l-a-m-a----------------- Tanie bilety lotnicze! http://samoloty.onet.pl

UDP over SSH avalible
Hi! Greets to all of You. I placed sources of modified OpenSSH.3.4p1 for UDP port forwarding. It is not state of the art, but it should work. Waiting for comments... [LLVMdev] Update information about Jade project
Thank you very much. Do you think it is possible to also include Jade in the referenced projects for the next 3.3 release note ? I prepared a patch to that purpose. What is mclust up to? Different clusters found if x and y interchanged
Hello All... I gave a task to my students that involved using mclust to look for clusters in some bivariate data of isotopes vs various mining locations. They discovered something I didn?t expect; the data (called tur) is appended below. p <- qplot(x = dD, y = dCu65, data = tur, color = mine) print(p) # simple bivariate plot of the data; looks fine mod1 <- Mclust(tur[,2:3]) mod1$G mod2

nobs() with glm(family="poisson")
Hi! The nobs() method for glm objects always returns the number of cases with non-null weights in the data, which does not correspond to the number of observations for Poisson regression/log-linear models, i.e. when family="poisson" or family="quasipoisson". This sounds dangerous since nobs() is, as the documentation states, primarily aimed at computing the Bayesian

Account lockout - Bad password count
Hi everyone, I'm unable to make the account lockout to work properly. & this is driving me mad. I am running samba Version 3.0.23c-1.fc5 as a PDC with openldap 2.3.19 on a fc5 (all packages from yum). I was running a 3.0.21 with the same issue. I'm using as well the Idealx script to manage the LDAP. The fact: I have a very strange behavior. The domain policy have been setup with the
