PicTeX output: how to suppress escaping of $ signs and braces?
Dear All,
I'm trying to draw a TeX histogram with the following pair of commands,
pictex(file = "realhisto.tex")
hist(Peaklist$V3,xlab="Height $z/\\ut{mm}$",ylab="Probability density $\\phi{}(z-z_0)/(1/\\ut{mm})$")
However, in the resulting file realhisto.tex, I get, for example
\put {Height \$z/\ut\{mm\}\$} [lB] <0.00pt,0.00pt> at 136.13 9.17

Psych can't load LaTeX entities file
Hi there,
I wanted to use RedCloth with my RubyOnRails 3 application, but it seems
that RoR uses 1.9.2''s Psych by default as the YAML parser if available,
and Psych fails to load the LaTeX entities file:

app_queue problem with Ringing state
Hi,
This is the output from queue show 28:
47 (DAHDI/g0/12345678) (realtime) (Ringing) has taken no calls yet
Why is the devicestate "Ringing" when no channels is calling this
number, and the queue says "has taken no calls yet"?
Is it picking up the general state of a random channel on g0 in dahdi?
Or what is happening? It only seems to happen with this particular

How to access element attributes using RJS?
For example, in the following block:
page.select(''.foo'').each do |element|
...
end
How would I access, just for example, the id attribute of each element in
the collection?
I''ve randomly tried element.id and element.attributes[''id''], but neither of
those has worked. I''ve also been unsuccessful in finding any documentation
on this, but it

Re Phrase Tuning.
Thanks Olly,
I have given flint a go -and it is generally much quicker (once it has
loaded the cache -that process still takes minutes). Flint actually seems
tro do some caching whereas quartz just seemed to hit the disc constantly.
Generally I've been running it on a machine with 5G of memory -but it has
to contend with other processes for resources, I have also run it on its
own on a 1G

Seagate floppy creator program doesnt work
Hi there,
http://www.seagate.com/support/disc/download/seatoold_en.exe
Seagate offers a Windows executable (needs Win98 or better, 1,9MB) that
should create 2 bootable floppy disks that contain a harddrive check
program.
Invoking "wine seatoold_en.exe" works, but when the floppy should be
written, an error occurs "insert 1.44 MB...click retry". I tried to

Interpretation of output from glm
I am fitting a logistic model to binary data. The response variable is a
factor (0 or 1) and all predictors are continuous variables. The main
predictor is LT (I expect a logistic relation between LT and the
probability of being mature) and the other are variables I expect to modify
this relation.
I want to test if all predictors contribute significantly for the fit or not
I fit the full

link_to problem with '.' in :id parameter (must be escaped!)
Hi,
I have this very normal link_to call:
<%= link_to name, tag_path(name) %>
The ''name'' can be something like "ASP.NET". That results in a URL like
http://localhost:3000/tag/ASP.NET
The Problem: I get a "no route" for this URL. I have a route
map.tag ''/tag/:id'', :controller => ''items'', :action =>

Trying tro play Endless Online
Hello, I'm new to the WineHQ forums and I am trying to play a massively multiplayer rpg called Endless Online. I've talked with a couple people on their IRC chat who told me that a lot more people were beginning to use wine to play this game. The one that told me this was using a port of wine for Mac OS X and I don't know if the others that this person referred to are using Linux or

Ampersand Heartburn
Greetings all.
I''m using the Microsoft "NorthWind Traders" database "orders" table as
test data for the Rico LiveGrid JavaScript.
The problem I''m noticing is that some of the records in the "ShipName"
field contain ampersands -- which for some reason are not being escaped
by Rails.
Rails does in fact automatically escape all of the other

and Asterisk is plugging in pseudo ID. Is that correct?
It seems to me that Asterisk should simply say "no caller ID" or "No ID" or
something besides "Asterisk".
In any case, we are trying to filter them with little success.
When we do a LEN(CALLERID(num) we get "13", when we expect "10"
The call pattern is 1 call followed by a
