orddom package for Ordinal Dominance Statistics
Dear R-users,
a new R package has been released named orddom.
This package provides ordinal estimates as alternatives to independent
or paired group mean comparisons, especially for Cliff?s delta
statistics. It provides basic parameters for various robust tests of
stochastic equality with ordinally scaled variables.
For two sets of data, ordinal comparison estimates are calculated such as

Text Summarization
Is there a text mining/ NLP package in R that could do text summarization?
For example, take a huge text as input and provide a summary of the text.
In package tm, summarization is defined more as high frequency terms which
is not what I want. I actually want a summary of what is present in the huge
volume of text.
Any help on a R package would be helpful. Thank you.

hang-up with log="x" and segments (PR#1030)
I experienced the following problem with R 1.3.0 which is probably a
bug. The program hangs-up if 1.) a coordinate of segments is outside the
ploting region and 2.) the option log="x" is used.

segments(1 , 1.2, 1, 0.6)

Configuring Swat
I'm just learning how yo use Samba, the version I downloaded is Samba 2.0.7. Needless to say this is my first time and I'm lost. I'm sure Samba is loaded to the system. Oh I using Linux RedHat 7.0. I'm now lost on how to get the swat working, if anyone could shed any light on this subject it would be greatly appreciated.

Question about Linear Mixed-Models (in R)
Hi all,
This question is about using the linear-mixed effects model for a
within-subjects experiment.
The experiment description:
Each subject was asked to read a series of sentences (in Hindi) on a
computer screen, and pressed the space bar to see each word in the
sentence successively. The amount of time spent on each word was recorded
on the computer, in milliseconds; this is the dependent

Re:
These visual differences have been discussed before and the result was
to ignore them. It seems people would rather use there eyes to compare
audio codecs! Use your ears and if you hear a difference then the
developers will want to know.
