Correlated random effects in lme
Hello, I am interested in estimating this type of random effects panel: y_it = x'_it * beta + u_it + e_it u_it = rho * u_it-1 + d_it rho belongs to (-1, 1) where: u and e are independently normally zero-mean distributed. d is also independently normally zero-mean distributed. So, I want random effects for group i to be correlated in t, following an AR(1) process. Any idea of how

ARMA(1,1) for panel data
Dear List, I am new to TS-Modeling in R. I would like to fit an ARMA(1,1) model for a balanced panel, running Y on a full set of unit and year dummies using an arma(1,1) for the disturbance: y_it=unit.dummies+yeardummies+e_it where: e_it=d*e_it-1+u_it+q*u_it-1 How can I fit this model in R? arma() does not seem to take covariates (or I don't understand how to specify the function so that

Office2000
Hi all, I've a problem by installing M$ Office2000 on the lates version (20030709) of Wine. When I run setup.exe all seem to work until the installation scroll bar opens. At this time the process hangs and the installation does not proceed. This happens both without windows installed than with a native Win2000 installation. I've a Mandrake 9.1. Any ideas? Any suggestions of how to

g729 Codec
Hi, Do the g729 codec licenses for Asterisk work on a SIP environment (only SIP UAs running g729 + Asterisk)? I would like to buy a couple for a SIP test lab but I have not found any documentation on wether it works for SIP UAs or not. The Digium page only mentions: "The G.729 codec works with all Digium cards." Can somebody tell me please? Thanks, Ricardo Villa

New to Gluster. Question about Postgres on Gluster.
Hi list, First off, sorry if this message seems to ramble about. It's been a long day that stretched through too many days. I'm currently reviewing gluster as storage for our servers. While not storing a massive data set (yet), it is starting to grow. The current setup is one that I inherited and basically has nothing going for it at the moment. No redundancy, back up policies are next

issues with version 2.2.2
Hi -- Does anyone have any strong comments either positively or negatively about the new version 2.2.2 running on Solaris 2.7 or 2.6? I have been running version 2.2.1 since August and have been having some really unusual behavior with random denial for some users from some machines at random times. Is there any evidence that 2.2.2 might help with this? --

Nessus test issues with open shares
Hi, My name is Joseph Villa, I'm new to the message boards and I'm also new to Samba. I just got an e-mail back on our Nessus scans.. Here are the 2 that are relivant.. 1.) The remote host has accessible LOGS$ share. ScriptLogic creates this share to store the logs, but does not properly set the permissions on it. As a result, anyone can use it to read the remote logs. PCM Voice Quality Issue on CVS Version
Hi, I have asterisk-0.4.0 running. When I make a call between an ATA186 and Asterisk using ulaw or alaw codec, all is fine. I installed the CVS version and tried the same thing but the voice is choppy. The installation was done on the same linux server. The stats on the ATA186 show no packet loss but a great number of "late packets". The stats when running version *-.0.4.0 do not

lme with corAR1 errors - can't find AR coefficient in output
Dear List, I am using the output of a ML estimation on a random effects model with first-order autocorrelation to make a further conditional test. My model is much like this (which reproduces the method on the famous Grunfeld data, for the econometricians out there it is Table 5.2 in Baltagi): library(Ecdat) library(nlme) data(Grunfeld)

Error message for corAR1()
Hi, I am trying to answer the see if density.km (response) is affected by Direction (continuous, integer), Layer (nominal with 12 levels) and direction (nominal with 8 levels). There is an interaction between Layer and Direction. Platform.field is a list of 9 different platforms and is being treated as a random effect. I had previously ran this model without the correlation argument and

Server response time
Hey Guys, I am considering leasing a new server in Germany to run my Asterisk infrastructure and I was wondering how response time would affect the performance of the system. Right now I have a response time of around 60-70ms with my server in California. The server in Germany would have a response time of around 140ms (both ways). My DID/Termination providers are in Canada and the USA, and

Grandstream Budgettone 100 & 102
Checking the earlier mails, it stated that the phones were $75 (100) & $85 (102) ref :- http://lists.digium.com/pipermail/asterisk-users/2003-June/013483.html Well, I just called Ovislink/dgtimes and was quoted $90 & $100 and the person said there was no price change. Anyone on this list actually bought them at the $75 & $85 rate ??? Regards...Martin -- Too much is just enough.

Client on dos
I need to use a samba server (linux redhat 6.0 ) from a diskless dos machine ( has a floppy drive for booting) . So i need a very little tcp-ip stack for dos and a client for a NT server on dos so that they will be small enough to be on a 1.44 system floppy. Is that possible ? Paul
