descriptive statistics
Hi. In a data set I have a variable that takes values from 1 to 14. For each subgroup of values of this variable, I would like to obtain some descriptive statistics of other variables present in the data set. I've been trying with a "for" loop but I couldn't get nothing. Could you please suggest me some lines? -- View this message in context:

Assigning constant value without alloca/load/store
Hello, I am currently trying to translate some custom IR to LLVM-IR and came across and issue. The custom IR has several registers and I am basically try to SSAfy it so it can be easily translated/converted to LLVM-IR. The problem: Since in my custom IR I can reassign every register I have to reassign every new expression with a new llvm Value. But my IR has something like this: REG A = VAR C

Assigning constant value without alloca/load/store
I want to keep the translation short and simple (My IR doesn't have control flow so it's basically on basic block) that's why I don't want to rely on alloca/load/store. 2016-02-08 6:08 GMT+01:00 George Burgess IV <george.burgess.iv at gmail.com>: > Hi! > > I don't know what "the right way" to do this is, but is there any reason > you're against

Grid unit width and font face
Dear R-users, When one defines a grid unit object using the 'strwidth' dimension, it seems that the default plain font is assumed as the following example illustrates. Is there a way to either make use of a font option when creating a unit object or to know the factor that exists between the width of the same text printed in plain and in bold? This might be dependent on the font,

Truetype and Opentype font in pdf device
Deal all, I want to know if truetype or opentype fonts are available in pdf device (i.e., pdf() or dev.copy2pdf()), and if so, how to do it? Now I can do as followings: 1. convert ttf to afm using ttf2afm, e.g.: $ ttf2afm Impact.ttf > Impact.afm 2. put the afm file in $R_HOME/library/grDevices/afm 3. register a new type1 font: pdfFonts(Impact=Type1Font("Impact",

More than two font in a plot
Hi there, I am a Chinese R user. I hope to display Chinese character in a plot, and than save it in PostScript format. I have read the article titled "Non-Standard Fonts in PostScript and PDF Graphics", especially the section about CJK fonts. I also tried the code: > pdf("chinese.pdf", width=3, height=1) > grid.text("\u4F60\u597D", y=2/3,

ctree (party) changing font sizes in plots
When plotting Binary Trees (ctree) from the party package, is there a way to adjust the font sizes of the leaves? require(party) irisct <- ctree(Species ~ ., data = iris) plot(irisct) I want to adjust the font sizes for "Node 2", "Node 5", etc. I'd also like to be able to adjust the font sizes for the x-axis and y-axis labels of the histograms. Thanks,

Lattice xyplot -- footnote font size / mtext
Is there a way of controlling the font size and alignment of a footnote in an xyplot, or alternatively of using 'mtext' to place a footnote at the bottom of a graph? --Rich Richard Kittler Advanced Micro Devices, Inc. Sunnyvale, CA

fonts in mosaic
I need to change the font(s) used in mosaic from package vcd. The help file and the vignette do not give very explicit examples for doing that. The easiest solution would be changing the font for everything on the graph: var labels, var names, title, subtitle, and cell labels. What is the easiest way of accomplishing this?

Legend in xyplot two columns
Dear R-Help I have some trouble to set the legend in a xyplot into two rows. The code below gives me the legend in the layout I am looking for, I just rather have it in two rows. library(lattice) schluessel <- list( points=list( col="red", pch=19, cex=0.5 ), text=list(lab="John"), lines=list(col="blue"),

Trouble with gridBase and inset plots
Dear All, I ma having a trouble in generating a figure containing 3 insets with the gridBase package. I always get an error message of the kind: Error in gridPLT() : Figure region too small and/or viewport too large No matter which parameters I choose. The plots works nicely with two insets only, but when I try adding the third one, my troubles begin. I am probably doing something wrong in the

package seriation- how to manage font size and label margin
Hello R experts, I am trying to use hmap from package seriation or bertinplot. I have two questions: How can I specify smaller font? I tried with pushViewport(viewport(layout=grid.layout(nrow = 1, ncol = 2), + gp = gpar(fontsize = 8))) but didn't work for the font with bertinplot. Also for hmap I need to arrange the margin so that all the labels are visible. I tried with par(mai=c(3,2,2,2)),

adjusting textsize and spacing in mosaic (vcd package)
I'm trying to find a way to change the font size in a mosaic plot (the grid version, not the base graphics one). Here's an example to demonstrate: #Basic plot library(vcd) mosaic(HairEyeColor, shade = TRUE) #Bad first guess: this stops the default cell colouring, and doesn't change the font size mosaic(HairEyeColor, shade = TRUE, gp=gpar(fontsize=16)) #This successfully changes

line endings in lattice plots: square vs. round
I would like to use llines() to draw lines with square endings in lattice plots. But the default behavior seems to be to draw lines with round endings. How can I change this? I'm looking for a parameter like par('lend') or get.gpar('lineend'), but trellis.par.get() doesn't seem to have anything analogous. I searched the archives but saw nothing on this. I'm

grid.legend - lines
I am testing out the grid-plots, but get into a problem making a legend. I have a line plot and some points, following the model in grid.plot.and.legend() i manage to get the points correctly in the legend, but what do I do with the line? (Of cource, I can just draw a line at the right location on the plot, but I would prefer to use legend) Morten -- Morten Sickel Norwegian Radiation

Limiting size of pairs plots
Dear R-users, I would like to add a legend at the bottom of pairs plots (it's my first use of this function). With the plot function, I usually add some additional space at the bottom when I define the size of the graphical device (using mar); grid functions then allows me to draw my legend as I want. Unfortunatley, this technique does not seem to work with the pairs function as the
