isotonic regression
Dear R-users Do you know of an easy way in R of performing "isotonic (unimodal)" regression ala BBBB, Barlow, Bartolomew, Brenner and Brunk. best regards Helgi -- Helgi Tomasson FAX: 354-552-6806 University of Iceland PHONE:354-525-4571 Faculty of Economics and Business Administration email:helgito at

breaking multi-modal histograms down into combinations of unimodal distributions
Dear All, Does anybody know if there is a functionality in R to break histograms that show a clear bi-modal (or multi-modal) distribution into a series of unimodal histograms that added up result in the original histogram? I was thinking of using QQ-plots (for which tools are available in R), and then observing the number of times the observed quantiles cross the 1:1 line, but this only gives an

(no subject)
Hi. I hope you can help me... I have fitted the following ARIMA model: arima1<-arima(bigspring$log.volume, order=c(0,1,2)) I need to predict 30 days ahead. I used following code predict(arima1,n.ahead=30,se=T) However I get 30 predictions, but from predictions 2:30 I get the same predictions. Why is this? What am I doing wrong Thanks Catherine KSS Ltd Seventh Floor St

Monotonic regression
Hi, I'm trying to find an implementation of monotonic regression in R and I haven't been able to find anything that's really related to this. isoMDS in the MASS package uses monotonic regression, however, I was wondering if there is any standalone function for monotonic regression? Basically what I'm trying to do is implement monotonic regression where I can see not just the

openldap missing modules
Hi List, I'm currently setting up an openldap server and included the following lines in my slapd.conf : modulepath /usr/lib/ldap moduleload back_hdb after finishing up my config and i run slaptest on it i get an error saying that the modulepath doesn't exist. I checked and it indeed isn't there , in fact i can find it anywhere on my system (centos 5.7). the packages i've

[LLVMdev] PIC Micropchip Backend
I am interested in developing a backend for the PIC microcontrollers. Specifically, I plan to write for the 8-bit MCUs, but would hopefully also support the 16 and 32 bit models (eventually). It is my understanding that a backend for PIC16 was previously a part of the project but was dropped in version 2.9. Is there any development on this front currently? Is there any interest in developing this

Error fitting ZIP with zeroinfl()
I am attempting to fit a full zero-inflated Poisson model then use backward elimination to arrive at the best-fitting model. When I try to fit the model with zeroinfl() I get this error: Error in while (abs((ll_old - ll_new)/ll_old) > control$reltol) { : missing value where TRUE/FALSE needed Any suggestions? How to park/transfer a call received from a Queue?

The queu is as following: Queue(sales|t) Which should allow transfers. So as soon as the call is answered I would like to be able to transfer it When the agent presses the # I get the dialtone but as soon as I press any digit Asterisk tells me

connection speeds between nodes
Hi All, I've been asked to setup a 3d renderfarm at our office , at the start it will contain about 8 nodes but it should be build at growth. now the setup i had in mind is as following: All the data is already stored on a StorNext SAN filesystem (quantum ) this should be mounted on a centos server trough fiber optics , which in its turn shares the FS over NFS to all the rendernodes

hfs with extended attribute support
Hi all, I?ve got a HFS+(not journaled) volume connected to my centos6.2 test server, i installed the kmod-hfs(plus) packages and read/write works all fine. but since i?m going to use this for serving mac home folders via netatalk i would like to mount it with support for Extended Attributes and acl?s. so i add user_xattr and acl to my fstab options but then it fails to mount. checking the

Time Series of Histograms
Dear List, I have a set of distributions recorded at an equal interval of time and I would like to plot them as series of horizontal histograms (with the x-axis representing time, and y-axis representing the bins) since the distribution shifts from unimodal to multimodal in several occasions. What I would like to see is something close to a violinplot, but I do not want a kernel density

Case-Cohort Analysis
Hi All, I am in the middle of doing an analysis of a Case-Cohort design. I had three questions about the analysis: a) Does any one know of some public code for developing the patient risk sets (indexed by failure time) or is there a better way to organize the data? b) I was planning to use the Barlow weighting method. Has this or any other weighting method (Prentice, Self-Prentice) been

Please Help. Subtraction of Matrices?
I am just beginning to learn R. Please help. I have two matrices. One 20 columns by 16 rows represent student responses on a 20 question test. The second is 20 by 16 representing the correct responses 16 times. Subtracting one from the other should yield 0's if a response is correct. Yet Response minus Bigkey doesn't work. Documents indicate vectors should add and subtract, and

testing for bimodal distribution
I'm not sure where to begin with this, but I was wondering if someone could refer me to an R package that would test to see if a distribution fits a bimodal distribution better than a unimodal distribution. Thanks, Andrew [[alternative HTML version deleted]]
