Multiple error bar plots
Dear R-lister
I have a question about how to create multiple error bar plots.
I found that I can use an "errbar" function from Hmisc package to create one
error bar plot in which there are multiple data points (x, y) with the error
bars. Thus, I know that I can get "one" error bar plot which consists of
many data points. However, I did not find a way to put

SCEV LoopTripCount
Hello,
I was doing some experiments with SCEV and especially the loop trip count.
Sorry for the dumb question, what is the easiest way to dump SCEV analysis
results on a .bc file?
On a side note, I wanted to see if we could optimize this function:
unsigned long kernel(long w, long h, long d) {
unsigned long count = 0;
for(int i = 0; i < w; ++i)
for(int j = i; j < h; ++j)
for(int k = j; k

[S] Problems with lme and 2 levels of nesting:Summary
I have taken the liberty of including the R-help mailing list on this
reply as that is the appropriate place to discuss lmer results.

dim(x) error message in lme (nlme package)
Hello
I am trying to analyse mortality data from fish larvae using lme from
the package nlme as well as using lmer in the package lme4
Response is DeathDay
Fixed factor is Treatment
Random factors are Clucth, Cup
Design: Cup nested in Clutch
If I do this in lme, I use the syntax:
model1 <- lme(DeathDay ~ Treatment, random=~ 1 | Clutch/Cup)
summary(model1)
I get the first part of the output,

[LLVMdev] Example for usage of LLVM/Clang/libclc
Hi,
My goal is to use Clang/LLVM/libclc to compile an OpenCL kernel and
eventually generate a PTX code. I already did this but I am not sure if the
PTX code I am generating is correct (is the one that is supposed to be
generated).
For example, currently,
In OpenCL : get_global_id(0) translates to
In LLVM : %call = tail call i32 @get_global_id(i32 0) which translates
to
In PTX:

Quantifying libvirt errors in launching the libguestfs appliance
As people may know, we frequently encounter errors caused by libvirt
when running the libguestfs appliance.
I wanted to find out exactly how frequently these happen and classify
the errors, so I ran the 'virt-df' tool overnight 1700 times. This
tool runs several parallel qemu:///session libvirt connections both
creating a short-lived appliance guest.
Note that I have added Cole's

That particular error is fixed in trunk, but with your code I'm now hitting
a new issue. I'll get the fix in soon.

Inode count in statvfs
Hi,
I noticed that `df -i` on btrfs returns zero values, much like it does
for vfat and - I think I remember - reiser3.
It would be nice if btrfs could count the number of inodes on a volume,
to get an overview of just how much dust I am collecting.
Is it doable?

This could be a good step. I'm not sure I can predict all of the
implications; I'd suggest you work up a proof of concept.

Gamma MLE
Hello,
I was asked to try the following code on R,
gamma.mles
function (xx,shape0,rate0)
{
n<- length(xx)
xbar<- mean(xx)
logxbar<- mean(log(xx))
theta<-c(shape0,rate0)
repeat {
theta0<- theta
shape<- theta0[1]
rate<- theta0[2]
S<- n*matrix(c(log(rate)-digamma(shape)+logxbar,shape/rate-xbar),ncol=1)
I<- n*matrix(c(trigamma(shape),-1/rate,-1/rate,shape/rate^2),ncol=2)

have several web services defined. However, when I try to connect with
a SOAP client it seems the client is only picking up one of the
services, called Hardware.

I've noticed I get different results fitting a function to some data on
my laptop to when I do it on my computer at work.
