Sweave - landscape figure
Dear R-users
I am trying to understand how Sweave works by running some simple examples. In the example I am working with there is a chunk where the R-commands related to plotting a figure are placed. When running R CMD Sweave ? , pdflatex the output is a portrait figure. I wonder whether it would be possible to change the orientation to landscape (not in the latex file but in Rnw file).

disculpar si me estoy excediendo.
knitr::kable(la.tabla.ancha)
Sí salen perfectamente en HTML

Problem with xtable- rescaling a table
Dear R users,
I am new to Latex and I am using the R package xtable to generate tables.
I want to produce a table that is very long. in the landscape format, but
I would need to rescale the table so that it fits in the page. xtable
enables me to have the landscape format, but I cannot rescale it, and there
seems to be a problem, if I use scalebox in Latex on my output produced

S latex listings
Hello,
I would like to insert S code to my latex document. I was looking for a
listings package that supports S. In www.r-project.or in the
software/other section there is an item with a link to latex package
listings, but it seems that the link is broken. Does anybody know an
alternative to get the package?
Thanks in advance,

sweave and R. Searching for a document that will get me started
windows XP
R 2.8.1
I would like to learn to use Sweave with R. I have no experience using Latex. I have looked at the sweave manual (http://www.statistik.lmu.de/~leisch/Sweave/Sweave-manual.pdf) and have found it difficult to understand, probably because I don't know Latex. Can someone recommend a document that will get me started with Sweave?
Thanks
John

eps Portrait to pdf now rotated since gs6.5 --- why?
Hi list,
this question has probably been answered but I haven't found
a solution in the archives:
The older ghostscript gs5.50 (debian, stable) deals well with R-plots:
epstopdf yields pdfs with the same orientation as the eps-file.
But, since gs6.5 (or earlier) the dimension of the plot is interpreted: if
x-width exceeds y-width even a Portrait-eps is rotated to Landscape.
A possible

R Newsletter: 1st Call for Articles
Hi,
Kurt Hornik and I will start to publish a quarterly electronic
``R Newsletter''
beginning with January 2001 (if all goes well). The idea is to have a
mixture of articles describing
1) new features in R itself
2) contributed add-on packages
3) nice applications

R-beta: Latex and R
Hello R users,
This question might be already discussed before, I apologize
if it is the case.
Simple... how can I do to include a figure in a latex document.
As I have already done in Splus, I tried this:
\begin{figure}
\special{psfile=gauss.ps .......}
\end{figure}
but it didn't work. Any help?
Thank you in advance.
PS: I let down the Mac and the MS Window platforms and I am back

TeX distribution on Windows
I'm looking for a Windows distribution of TeX that works with R, after a
few years' absence from Windows. On Duncan Murdoch's Rtools page fptex is
still recommended, but it turns out that fptex is "defunct" as of May 2005,
see
http://www.metz.supelec.fr/~popineau/xemtex-7.html
So, what is suggested? TUG (tug.org) recommends something called proTeXt,

How to set a portrait mode screen using i915 driver?

Can I use this new feature to achieve setting the portrait mode. What
is the syntax in the config file to set it? Also, is there any other

Problemas con tinytex (base Latex)
Estimados erreros,
https://yihui.org/tinytex/). Sin embargo, al tratar de instalar me

Mixing portrait/landscape in a postscript file

I'm stuck with a little graphical problem. I'm generating several
lattice plots which are printed in a single postcript device opened by

onefile=TRUE, horizontal=TRUE)
Everything works fine, but some of these

Problemas con tinytex (base Latex)
Estimado Mauricio Mardones
# Windows
tlmgr path remove rd /s /q "%APPDATA%\TinyTeX"
Se instala en esa carpeta oculta.

orientation of eps files
hello,
i have a problem with the orientation of eps files produced with the postscript() command. i have generated some eps files with R using:
postscript(file = filename, horizontal = FALSE, paper = "special", onefile = F
ALSE, height = height, width = width, pointsize = pointsize)
now, when i include these eps files into a standard paper document (ie. a4 paper, portrait orientation)
