plotting grouped data object
All, I'd like to plot the main relationship of a grouped data object for all levels of a factor in a single panel. The sample code below creates a separate panel for each level of the factor. I realize that this could be done in other ways, but I'd like to do it via plotting the grouped data object. thanks! dave z = rnorm(18, mean=0, sd=1) x = rep(1:6, 3) y =

Data frames questions
Hi there, couple of questions on data frames: 1) Is there a way to build an empty data frame, containing nothing but the data frame variable names? 2) Is there a way to reorder the variables in a data frame, e.g. When I go to write out a data frame using write.table or write.matrix, I want the output in a certain order... 3) How to I "append" to the bottom of a dataframe? Thanks! --j

Question about merge()
If I want to do a join based on *two* matching fields in two data frames, can merge() handle this? It appears to only handle a single matching column -- do I need to make a "metacolumn" or is there some way to do this? E.g.: Dataframe 1 contains columns A,B,C and Dataframe 2 contains A,B,D I want an output A,B,C,D which places C and D together if A and B match (otherwise, make two

Theora file extension
Theora and Vorbis both uses same extension .ogg. I know ogg is a container, just like avi. But in my opinion video and audio files should have different extensions (using .ogv can be a nice idea). To a media player it doesn't matter what extension a file uses, but to a human who does a ls in a directory full of media files having different extensions will help a lot. I know one can use file

add city and point in the map
Dear Helpers: I'm trying to use packages "maps" and "mapdata" (see blow) to display the research resutls on map (Mid-Atlantic region). In particular, I need to mark a number of points in the map by giving their latitude and longitude information. For instance, I would like to mark a point on (long, lat) =(75.56027, 39.09271). Also, I need to mark several cities that I

Merging data frames one of which is NULL
Hello! I am running a loop. The result of each run of the loop is a data frame. I am merging all the data frames. For exampe: The dataframe from run 1: x<-data.frame(a=1,b=2,c=3) The dataframe from run 2: y<-data.frame(a=10,b=20,d=30) What I want to get is: merge(x,y,all.x=T,all.y=T) Then I want to merge it with the output of the 3rd run, etc. Unfortunately, I can't create the

how to use Rengine instance to parse R script String
Hello everyone I am currently developing a web based R script editor. My idea is to pass the R script command as a string into the backend , then use the Rengine instance to parse the R script command and get the resutls. Do anyone know how to use Rengine instance to parse a R script String? if so, could you give me a small example (in Java)? i really appreciate. -- View this message in

variable importance in Random Forest
HI, Dear Andy, I run the RandomFOrest in R, and get the following resutls in variable importance: What is the meaning of MeanDecreaseAccuracy and MeanDecreaseGini? I found they are raw values, they are not scaled to 1, right? Which column if most similar to the variable rel.influence in Boosting? Thanks so much! > fit$importance 0 1

Processing time on clogit
Hi All, I'm trying to run a conditional logistic regression in R (2.14.0) using clogit from the survival package. The dataset I have is relatively small (300 observations) with 25 matched strata- there are roughly 2 controls for each case, and some strata have multiple case/control groups. When I try to fit a very simple model with a binary outcome and a single continuous exposure R seems to

[VTD][PATCH] a time out mechanism for the shared interrupt issue for vtd
Attached is a patch for shared interrupt between dom0 and HVM domain for vtd. Most of problem is caused by that we should inject interrupt to both domains and the physical interrupt deassertion then may be delayed by the device assigned to the HVM. The patch adds a timer, and the time out value is sufficient large to tolerant the delaying used to wait for the physical interrupt deassertion.

[PATCH] patch to support super page (2M) with EPT
Attached are the patches to support super page with EPT. We only support 2M size. And shadow may still work fine with 4K pages. The patches can be split into 3 parts. Apply order is as attached. tool.diff To allocate 2M physical contiguous memory in guest except the first 2M and the last 2M. The first 2M covers special memory, and Xen use the last few pages in guest memory to do special

[VTD][RESEND]add a timer for the shared interrupt issue for vt-d
Keir, It''s a resending patch for the timeout mechanism to deal with the shared interrupt issue for vt-d enabled hvm guest. We modify the patch following your comments last time and make some other small fix: 1) We don''t touch the locking around the hvm_dpci_eoi(). 2) Remove the HZ from the TIME_OUT_PERIOD macro which may confuse others. 3) Add some

[PATCH]Add CR8 virtualization
This patch adds CR8 virtualization. It''s the initial patch for booting HVM x64 Windows guest, and just let every CR8 access issues vmexit. And later we will do acceleration to it. [PATCH] unshadow the page table page which are used as data page
The patch deals with the situation which guest OS uses unused page table pages as data pages and write data to them. The pages will still be grabbed by Xen as page table pages, and lots of unnecessary page faults occur. The patch will check if the data guest writes to the page table contains valid mfn or not, if not, we believe it is a data page now and then unshadow the page. The patch

Will Xen support PCI add-on card for serial ports?
hi, It looks that Xen currently only support ISA serial port, which is onboard. Is there any plan to support the PCI serial port? Thanks, Neo -- I would remember that if researchers were not ambitious probably today we haven''t the technology we are using! _______________________________________________ Xen-devel mailing list Xen-devel@lists.xensource.com

solve computationally singular
Hi uRsers, when inverting a 2 by 2 matrix using solve, I encountered a error message: solve.default(sigma, tol = 1e-07) : system is computationally singular: reciprocal condition number = 1.7671e-017 and then I test the determinant of this matrix: 6.341393e-06. In my program, I have a condition block that whether a matrix is invertible like this: if(det(sigma)<1e-7) return NULL;

non-recursive remote listing breakage in 3.0.0pre1
It would appear something snuck in that breaks non-recursive remote listings when talking to a non-3.0.0pre1 version of rsync. The symptom itself is simple enough to see; rather than displaying member directories/regular files/symlinks/etc as one would expect, only non-directories (with the exception of '.') are listed. Other tidbits.. some obvious, some maybe not: - not limited to just
