how do you interpolate a gaussian grid to a standard 2.5 degree grid?
Dear R-help community, I have looked on the R search site and archives but cannot find mention of a way of interpolating a gaussian distribution of data to a standard 2.5 degree grid. I have two global dataset and I need to correlate - unfortunately one is a 2.5 degree grid dim[longitude=144,latitude=72] and one is gaussian dim[longitude=192,latitude=94]. I would rally appreciate hearing

clustering coefficient
Hi all, I've been looking for a function that calculates "clustering coefficient" either Newman's or Wattson's. I have found different functions to calculate different "cluster" but I haven't found yet anything for clustering coefficient, it might be under a different name. Any ideas? devd question
I'm trying to make devd run an stty command whenever a USB serial device is attached. Unfortunately, $device-name is ucom[0-9] and the device names are /dev/cuaU[0-9] - how do I get the correct name in the device action? I haven't found a way to extract the number by itself, so I'm stuck with specifying a separate rule for each number, like so: attach 100 { device-name

Question.
Hello all R users, I tried to compile R1.3.0 on Solari Ultra60, R configured as follows(command ./configure) then I used "make" to make x files. I got the information which looks that the X11 s unsupported. Does anyone can help me to find the reason why I couldn't make the successful compile. If anyone has the precompiled R under sparc workstation, may I get a copy?

[PATCH] xen/build: Remove hacked up version of figlet
This hacked up version of figlet contributes a supprisingly large proportion of the Coverity issues found under xen/ (and therefore attributed against Xen) Figlet can be found in all distros, so make use of it. We keep xen.flf (being the Xen figlet font) and replace the hacked up octal transform with a short python script. The Xen Makefile has been tweaked in such a way that it still prints the

Urgent: multiple NIC
Hi, I have a NT Workstation with SP4 and 3 network interfaces. I use ATM over IP, so two of my interfaces are CLIP. CLIP is ip over atm, so the only problem for samba would be no broadcasts in atm interfaces. I also have a Linux Box (RedHat 2.2.1 with samba 2.0.2) with 3 interfaces for the same networks as my PC. It looks something like this: -Linux Box- -NT Box- (atm)

Python version for scripts in LLVM?
Hi, Is there a rule or guideline about what Python versions must be supported for scripts in the LLVM tree? I am working on some patches to some scripts in LLVM to use features in Python 2.7, so that these scripts can run under Python 2.7 and Python 3.x Is that OK? For example, here is a patch to use print as a function, so that the scripts can work in Python 2.7 and Python 3.x -- Craig

Realtime queues with Firebird SQL through unixodbc
Hello, I have a partially working Realtime Queue using unixODBC and Firebird. I followed the steps on asterisk-guru and the voip-info asterisk message boards but have been having no success. I say that my queue is partially working because callers can join the queue. However the calls do not go to the agents even if the agent is not tied up and is available for calls. So the caller is stuck

question about centroid-linkage (cluster analysis)
Dear R community, I would be greatful if somebody could shed light on the following. I have created a set of 6 points to check how centroid agglomeration works in cluster analysis: > Y <- data.frame(x=c(-1,1,1,-1,10,12),y=c(1,1,-1,-1,0,0)) It is quite intuitive to understand that the last clusters to be joined will be {1,2,3,4} with {5,6}. Now, the centroid for the first cluster has

Using pch="." speeds up plotting considerably over using symbols. > x <- runif(1000000) > y <- runif(1000000) > system.time(plot(x, y, pch=".")) user system elapsed 1.042 0.030 1.077
