R CMD check problem
Hi
I have a package that I'm testing.
It seems to install fine and it works, as far as I can tell.
For example, I can install the package, and use it,
and source the test suite with no errors.
My problem is with R CMD check.
It passes on R-2.2-0:
Robin-Hankins-Computer:~/scratch% R CMD check ./partitions_1.1-0.tar.gz
* checking for working latex ... OK

RE: mvtnorm package installation failure
Hi,
Thank you for the tip.
I tried to re-intall R from Debian "stable", in which R's version is 1.4.0. And the installation
of "mvtnorm" works.
I then re-installed R yet again from Debian "unstable" (woody), in which R's version is 1.5.1.
The installation of "mvtnorm" fails again with the same error message. Another package that

R CMD check for packages in a bundle
Hi
[MacOsX 10.4.6; R-2.2.1]
I have a bundle that comprises three packages. I want to run R CMD
check on
each one individually, as it takes a long time to run on all three.
I am
having problems.
The bundle as a whole passes R CMD check, but fails when I cd to the
bundle
directory and run R CMD check on a package directory.
The whole bundle passes:

Generating MVN Data
Dear All
I want to generate multivariate normal data in R for a given covariance
matrix, i.e. my generated data must have the given covariance matrix. I
know the rmvnorm command is to be used but may be I am failing to
properly assign the covariance matrix.
Any help will be greatly appreciated
thanks.

error from pmvnorm
Hi all,
Can anyone tell me what the following error message means?
" Error in mvt(lower = lower, upper = upper, df = 0, corr = corr, delta = mean,
: NA/NaN/Inf in foreign function call (arg 6)"
It was generated when I used the 'pmvnorm' function in the 'mvtnorm' package.
Thanks a lot.

Multivariate chi-square distribution function
Dear All,
Is there any function in R for computing "multivariate chi-square
distribution"?
How about "multivariate gamma distribution"?
I appreciate any comment on this subject.

pmvt problem in multcomp
Hi, all:
Two examples are shown below.
I want to use the multiple comparison of Dunnett.
It succeeded in upper case "example 1".
However, the lower case "example 2" went wrong.
In "example 2", the function pmvt return NaN, so I cannot show
this simtest result. Is there any solution?

problem with 'install.packages'
Hi, All:
Is there a way to identify whether any users are using a
particular package in a shared network R installation?
I ask, because we have such a multiple-user installation and when
I tried to install a package using Rgui that was in use by Rterm on a
single-user installation, 'install.packages' deleted the existing
package but failed to install the new version;

Visualizing complex analytic functions using domain coloring
Hi
has anyone coded up domain colouring for visualizing complex analytic
functions
(such as elliptic functions)?
[
the idea is to depict a complex function f(z) using a filled.contour()
variant
in which the hue is given by Arg(f(z)), and the saturation by Mod(f(z)).

RE: mvtnorm package installation failure
Hi Dirk,
It was actually Debian "testing" that has R 1.4.0. Debian "stable" has R 0.9 or something really old
like that.
Anyways, I did what A.J. Rossini suggested:
# apt-get install libreadline4-dev
Then I installed R-1.5.1 from Debian "unstable". The installation of "mvtnorm" has no trouble after this.
I think that you are probably right: the

Hi.
I have a factor and I want to extract just those elements that appear
exactly once.
How to do this?
Toy example follows.

("beech",4)))

Debian's own "stable" R is way older; this must have been a user-contributed one. And I suspect
that it was build without readline support (see below).

functions and strings
Hi
If
string <- "xyz"
f <- function(x){1 + sin(cos(x)) + exp(x^2)}
How do I manipulate "string" and f() to give the string
"1 + sin(cos(xyz)) + exp(xyz^2)"
?

Is there a straightforward way to convert a character string
containing comma-delimited

In my application, I use
system(executable.string, intern=TRUE)
which returns a string like
