Constraint on one of parameters.
Dear all, I have a function to optimize for a set of parameters and want to set a constraint on only one parameter. Here is my function. What I want to do is estimate the parameters of a bivariate normal distribution where the correlation has to be between -1 and 1. Would you please advise how to revise it? ex=function(s,prob,theta1,theta,xa,xb,xc,xd,t,delta) { expo1=

Compilation Error when DEBUG_approx Toggled on in RISC-V
Hi all, While compiling R to RISC-V64 architecture and debugging in R's C source codes, I think I have found a small bug. Can anyone please verify whether it is a real bug? The possible bug lies in the file `R-4.2.2/src/library/stats/src/approx.c` in function `R_approxfun` around line 148: #ifdef DEBUG_approx REprintf("R_approxfun(x,y, nxy = %.0f, .., nout = %.0f, method = %d,

restricting interfaces.
Hello, I've got samba running on a FreeBSD box that has two interfaces, ep0 which is an external interface, and ep1 which is for internal use only. I only want samba to listen on ep1 so if i'm ever portscanned port 137/139 will not show up as open on the external interface. I've added these lines to the global section of my smb.conf file: hosts allow=192.168.0.

[lattice] display a projected map on a layerplot
summary: I can display a lon-lat map on a lattice::layerplot, and I can display a Lambert conformal conic (LCC) map on a spam::image, but I can't display an LCC map on a lattice::layerplot. Example follows. What am I doing wrong? details: I've been using `lattice` (via `rasterVis`) successfully to display global atmospheric data, which works well enough (though I am definitely intrigued

HIRHAM netcdf files
Can someone help me out with a "small" problem? I've started using netcdf files recently, and I want to extract the grid id and also the coordinates from a HIRHAM netcdf file. I know how to extract a slice of dataset both in space and in time and I also know the area that this file should cover, however I have no idea regarding the reference for both LAT/LON and RLAT/RLON. I tried

thematic map of USA
My goal is to prepare a thematic map of the US, with states shaded according to their values for a variable of interest. I would like to include an inset for Alaska in the upper left and an inset for Hawaii in the lower left. If possible, I'd like to use Albers conic projection, or something similar. Thus far I have tried using the maps package with its state database (which omits

gmaps, projection, inset
Running R version 2.6.1 under Gentoo Linux, I'm trying to produce a thematic map of the USA using the gmaps package. The result thus far has two problems from my point of view. First, the projection (Miller cylindrical?) elongates southern states and flattens northern ones unattractively. I'd prefer Albers conic projection or something similar. Second, the inset for Alaska is placed

Acces violation ???
Dear R-listers, I have created a "dll" and I call it from a R function. However R stops and shows the message: "Unhandled exception in Rgui.exe (R.DLL): 0xC0000005: Access Violation" I get this error in other situations and I solved it verifying that all parameters are called fine. (e.g., double precision -> as.double, integer -> as.integer,...). I have verify this.
