Beginner's query - segmentation fault
I am dealing with a huge matrix in R (20 columns, 54000 rows) and have
lots of missing values within the dataset which are currently displayed as
the value "-999.00" I am trying to create a new matrix (or change the
existing one) to display these values as "NA" so that I can then perform
the necessary analysis on the columns within the matrix.
The matrix name is temp and the

data.frame() creates list?
I obviously don't know what I'm doing. I want to create "ByEBNum" as a
data frame, but it comes out as a list. How do I make it a data frame?

plotting multiple animal tracks against Date/Time
Dear list,
I would like to create a time series plot in which the paths of several individuals are stacked above each other, with the x-axis being the total observation period of three years ( 1.1.2004 to 31.12.2007) and the y-axis being some defined range[min, max].
My data consist of Date/Time information and the paths of 45 individual as the distance from the location of release. An example

Bandwidth measurement tool: bmtools
This is not specifically on-topic for Asterisk, but I have found on
many occasions while working with Asterisk that it would have been
very handy to be able to measure, with some precision, the bandwidth
being used by a particular host, port, or combination of the two.
So, I went searching for various tools, none of which were what I
wanted. They either were too clever, or too limited in

Sweave & xtable
I'm trying to get Sweave running for automatic report generation, and
it seems to run fine when just using verbatim output. However, I've ran
into a problem with xtable. I would like to print the following matrix
using xtable:
> dim(counts)
[1] 19 15
All columns are filled with real/integer numbers > 0 and < 1000. Just
typing xtable(counts) gives correct LaTeX output, but

compiling ffmpeg with --enable-libspeex (was Re: from Adobe Flex / Flash Player 10 .flv Speex via Red5 to .wav PCM?)
This is resolved:
apt-get remove libspeex-dev
cd ~/src/speex-1.2rc1/
./configure --prefix=/usr
make; make install
cd ../ffmpeg
./configure --enable-libspeex
make; make install
worked; then I was able to decode a Speex .flv file:
~/flvs$ ffmpeg -i SpeexQ6R16Efalse.flv foo.wav
FFmpeg version SVN-r17174, Copyright (c) 2000-2009 Fabrice Bellard, et al.
configuration: --enable-libspeex

I have to perform ANOVA's on many different data organized in a dataframe. I can run an ANOVA for each sample, but I've got hundreds of data and I would like to avoid manually carrying out each test. in addition, I would like to have the results organized in a simple way, for example in a table, wich could be easy to export. thank you for assistance

Creating New Variable Using Ifelse
Hello R Help List,
I am an R novice and trying to use the ifelse function to create a new binary variable based off of the responses of two other binary variables; NAs are involved. I pulled it off almost successfully, but when I checked the counts of my new variable for accuracy, I found that a small portion of the NA cases were not being passed through as NAs, but as "0" counts in my
