question about dyn.load()
Hello, everybody,
I met a big problem. What I want is to use c code in R. I have load a test
code "conv.c" in R and run it successfully. However, in my real code, I use
matlab c library (Matrix Inverse function). After I use command "R CMD SHLIB"
to share library, I can not use "dyn.load" to load the object in

Linking to lapack
Hello all.
I'm developing a package for R holding a Gibbs sampler, which tends to have
better performance when written in C than in R.
During each iteration in the Gibbs sampler, I need the inverse of a
symmetric matrix.
For this, I wish to use lapack, as is concisely suggested in "Writing R
extensions", since this will have better performance than I could ever write
myself.

calling fortran functions CHOL and DPOTRF form Fortran
Hi all,
I'm working out some Fortran code for which
I want to compute the Choleski decomposition of a covariance matrix
in Fortran.
I tried to do it by two methods :
1) Calling the lapack function DPOTRF.
I can see the source code and check that my call is correct,
but it does not compile with:
system("R CMD SHLIB ~/main.f")
dyn.load("~/main.so")
I get:

calling Lapack and BLAS routines from C
Hi,
I am working on a UNIX machine and I am interfacing R and C with the .C
function. I am trying to call LAPACK and BLAS routines, but am running
into a problem where, while I am able to run the BLAS routines, I cannot
run the LAPACK routines.
I compile my .c file (at end of email) in the following way:
[mhitczen at jlogin2 ~/Cstuff]$ R CMD SHLIB testmore.c
gcc -std=gnu99

I really appreciate your help. I think I have a little advancement. ^_^

R problems with lapack with gfortran
Dear Thomas,
thank you for your input. I've debugged one of the packages and I
confirm that the breakage is related to passing of strings from C to
Fortran. Indeed, BLAS and LAPACK define a large number of subroutines
that take one or more explicit single-character strings as arguments.
Other than that, BLAS has only one function (xerbla), which takes a
string of unspecified length,

R problems with lapack with gfortran
Hi,
I have tried to pinpoint potential problems which could lead to the
LAPACK issues that are currently seen in R. I built the current R
trunk using
AR=gcc-ar RANLIB=gcc-ranlib ./configure --prefix=$HOME --enable-lto
--enable-BLAS-shlib=no --without-recommended-packages
and used this to find problem areas.
There are quite a few warnings that were flagged, due to mismatches

shared object location
hi all, i posted a question before about this, but i may have been too
cryptic to understand.
in short, there exists an R package that someone is writing. this
package depends on a custom library (written in C,), compiled as a
shared, and called by the package's functions via the .Call(...)
method.
we are testing out different code implementations of the compiled
library functions, and thus
