another question about fisher.test
Dear all, I have another question about fisher.test: Is there any way to save the resulting p-value in a matrix or file after a loop as below? for (i in 1:42) { # testing difference in income(pinc) between people in # (with in1=1) and out (with in1=0) of the program for # group i fisher.test(m$pinc[m$group==i], m$in1[m$group==i], workspace=40000000, hybrid=F)} When I run this loop, there is no

Firefox keyword searches for R & S-Plus
If you've 'rediscovered the web' with Firefox (http://getfirefox.com), you might find this tip handy. Suppose you want to search the (local) R documentation for information about the lme function. Wouldn't it be nice to just type into the browser address bar: r lme and have the search performed? Here's how (on Windows): Click on this link:

graphics site
About six months ago there was a reference to a site (in french) that did a spectacular job of demonstrating R's graphical capabilities. My bookmarks were recently wiped and I cannot find this site despite my best googling. Anyone have the address which I have done a miserable job describing? Thanks. Michaell

list(0) to integer
Hello I've another question :-) I would like to transform a list to a integer. I must be sure that the number entered by the user is an integer! Thus, I've made : repeat{ cat("Effectif des populations (integer):") n<-scan("",n=1,what=list(0),quiet=TRUE) if (is.integer(n[[1]])==TRUE) break print("L'effectif des population doit etre un entier")

"Statistiques avec R"
Dear R users, I want to share my joy with you. Please see the following excellent introduction to R "Statistiques avec R " by Vincent Zoonekynd http://zoonek2.free.fr/UNIX/48_R/all.html In paticular, you can see a lot of fascinating graphics examples of R from which you can get many hints. Soryy if this is already well-known, but the CRAN search did not show nothing with the keyword

A comprehensive manual on "How to plot" (a lot of graphical examples welcome)
Hi, I'm looking for a manual (we based or pdf) which would explain in detail with graphical examples what all the option can do in plot and par. Does anybody now anything like this? A couple of manuals to R I went through do have plot parameters mentioned, but sometimes it is hard to understand or imagine what the parameter can do (the same with the related help page) e.g. I met "From

Mental Block with PCA of multivariate time series!
Please could someone point me in the right direction as I appear to be having a total mental block with fairly basic PCA problem! I have a large dataframe where rows represent independent observations and columns are variables. I am wanting to perform PCA sequentially on blocks of nrows at a time and produce a graphical output of the loadings for the first 2 EOFs for each variable. I'm sure

I want to compute a linear regression and obtain a time serie for both residuals and fitted values. I have tried the trick ts.intersect, without success. Could you help me out of this? #### Example: y<-ts(1:10+rnorm(10))

Plotting FAQ?
Hi, Since I started to make some 'final' plots of my data I found that I have tons of questions related to 'the little things'. Rather than bother the list with all the questions (ahem), or search the archives for similar questions and translate the context, I would like to find a FAQ for plotting in particular (and R programming in general). I know for sure (searching the
