rgl installation problems
Hi!
I'm new to R, but have worked with Splus before. I installed several
packages in R (R-1.9.1) without problems, but when I try to install rgl
(rgl_0.64-13.tar.gz). I get the following, and the package does not install.
Any help would be greatly appreciated. I'm running R in redhat 9.
Thanks,
Enrique

Installing rgl on linux
Hi,
I'm new to R. I installed several packages in R (R-1.9.1) without
problems. I am trying to set R up to use Rcmdr, all I need now is rgl -
unfortunately I can't get it to install. There is a previous message
regarding this issue from June but even with information in those
answers I get stuck.
I have attempted to install rgl form within R and from a shell using the

Installing rgl in R2.0.1
I'm running R2.0.1 under Solaris 2.9 on a SunBlade 100.
When I installed it, I set things up to use the Sun compilers
cc, CC, f95 with the options recommended in the installation and
administration guide.
Until today, no worries.
With all this discussion about R GUIs I thought I'd give R Commander a go.
The web page said to install a bunch of packages first, so I did

rgl installation problems
It is indeed the following problem. I used the RPM installation as of July 20, 2004 and had the same problem installing rgl. After fixing the following line in the Makeconf file ("-share" is missing), the installation of rgl went successfully.
>This is a little strange. I'm now building RPMS for older Red Hat versions on FC2 using a tool called Mach. There is a possibility that

RGL package installation problem on Centos
Dear R users,
I have installed the latest version of R from source on Centos (using
configure and make install).
This seemed to work fine, with no Errors reported and R at the command line
starts R.
However, if I try and installed the package rgl using;
install.packages("rgl")
I get the following error;

I presume 'R 3.7.0' is R-devel: it is not released and may never be
released under that version.

Compilation error on installing rgl package
Hi all,
I encountered difficulties when I tried to install the
rgl package. I'm using R devel (2.7.0) on Mac OS X
10.5.1. Below is the message popping up when
compiling the package from source.
I'd be grateful if someone can help me solve the
problem.
Thanks,
Kenneth

failed installing rgl
Dear all,
I have tried installing "rgl" with the usual command:
R CMD INSTALL rgl_0.67-2.tar.gz
Differently from what happened last time I have succesfully installed this
package, this time there was a failure:

-I/usr/include/libpng12 -I/usr/local/include -fpic -O2 -g -pipe -Wall

suse 9.1 x86_64 rpms?
I noticed on the mailing list archives and through Google searches that
a couple of months ago there was discussion of maintaining rpms for suse
9.1 on the x86_64 architecture.
Are these rpms still planning on being released? It would help me a
great deal.
I've tried compiling from source using the R-base spec files provided on
CRAN. Using that, I am able to produce a running version of

I'm testing an application that uses rgl (installed with apt-get install

Is 'xorg-x11-devel' equivalent to 'XFree86-devel'?
The readme states as requirement that XFree86-devel be installed for RedHat
boxes. I'm running FC4 which doesn't use XFree-86 but xorg-x11. Are these
equivalent, and will the installation of xorg-x11-devel meet the installation
requirments?
