error applying user-defined link function to lmer
Dear R users,
I'm struggling with applying a user-defined link function in lmer. For analyzing data of a 2AFC psychophysical experiment, I would like to model my binary data with a logistic function with a lower limit at 0.5 instead of 0. In a previous question this has been described as a halflogit function. To do so I wrote my own link function and would like to submit it to lmer, however

snmp driver for Liebert AP300
I assume this is the best way to get in contact with the developers of
the snmp-ups driver for nut.
We have a Liebert AP300 Series UPS with an SNMP Card. I'm trying to
write a new header file for nut so we can support our UPS with nut.
I've got the driver to compile with Nut 2.2.0 source on RedHat EL v4 and
some of the info is correct, but the main thing the power/battery status
is not.

SCP bug on OpenSSH 3.6p1
I apologize if this has been reported already - my company has blocked
the reporting site so I cannot see if it has or what the solution is.
I have also reported this to AT&T as a UWIN issue too.
Ok - so I am running UWIN 4.1 (the latest version of this) on a Windows
XP SP2 system. UWIN 4.1 bundles with it OpenSSH 3.6p1. I have setup
and tested SSH and it works fine. I can run an

Recoding variables based on reference values in data frame
I'm new to R (previously used SAS primarily) and I have a genetics data
frame consisting of genotypes for each of 300+ subjects (ID1, ID2, ID3,

Does anybody out there use Litespeed?
I''ve heard good things about Litespeed but all the documentation I''ve
found doesn''t reflect the new 3.3 version. The older 2 and 1 versions
are just so different. I''ve gone down the road with the old docs and
it''s always a dead end.
I''d be happy to pay or trade code or some kind of programming favors
for some help in this area.

Strategy for importing temporary .csv file?
For some reason, I''ve posted this question to this forum 4 times now
and it never appears in the daily consolidated email I get daily?
I''ve written a routine allowing the client user to declare where
their .csv import file resides and then send it to the server to
import the many rows into an existing model table, and then throw it
away.
I''ve imported many graphic files

Creating new variable with maximum visit date by group_id
Dear R users,
I am encoutering the following problem: I have a dataset with a 'unique_id' and different 'visit_date' (formatted as.Date, "%d/%m/%Y") per unique_id. I would like to create a new variable with the most recent date of visit per unique_id as shown below.

output data by date?
Dear Helpers,
I have a dataset X, with no missing values, everything is in order, R reads
it correctly, and I have already done some statistical analyses on the
dataset. The data are in order by date (six sampling dates in one year,
earliest to latest) and I now want to generate boxplots for each parameter
for each date.
However, R outputs the boxplots in some order that I do not understand (eg.

Can't seem to export MySQLDump and then import MySQLImport?
I''ve got my applications running on a server that backs up every hour
using MySQLdump.
My goal is to take this ''dump'' and re-import it into my desktop
computer using MySQLAdministrator.
I go through the procedure of restoring this ''backup.sql'' file and it
grinds for some time as though something is happening...and then
nothing??

Help finding "JRE" to run Netbeans in Linux
I''ve spent the last year developing a large Ruby on Rails 2.0
application with over a 100 tables and controllers and hope to be
deploying it soon.
Before I moved from my Windows XP computer to deployment, I wanted to
run it in a local Linux environment to sort out:
1. Amazon S3 files
2. RMagick (went south when I upgraded to Rails 2.0)
3. ARMailer (mail spooling program)

dup error of rsync 3.0.6-1 under cygwin 1.7.0-62 and 63
I have used earlier rsync on cygwin successfully for a
long. I have now moved to cygwin 1.7.0, which required
moving to rsync 3.0.6-1 at the same time. (The -1 is
for minor cygwin-specific patches.)
When I do almost any command with rsync, such as the one
below, it breaks at a dup2 after a fork in pipe.c (routine
piped_child). Windows gives error code 6, which is translated
by cygwin to errno 9 =
