Compiling ocfs2-tools-1.6.3 on slackware64-13.1
Hello all, I'm having trouble compiling ocfs2-tools-1.6.3 on slackware64-13.1 These are my configure flags (the last 2 I added after googling this problem, but didn't help): ./configure \ --sbindir=/sbin \ --bin=/bin \ --libdir=/usr/lib${LIBDIRSUFFIX} \ --sysconfdir=/etc \ --datadir=/etc/ocfs2 \ --sharedstatedir=/var/ocfs2 \ --libexecdir=/usr/libexec \

Bug#589176: xen-utils-common: replace gawk with awk in scripts and Depends
Package: xen-utils-common Version: 4.0.0-1 Severity: wishlist Tags: patch I am not a gawk/mawk expert, but I looked carefully at the few uses of gawk that I saw in /etc/xen/scripts/vtpm-common.sh and network-bridge, and I did not see anything that was gawk-specific. It would be nice if they could be changed to awk and the dependency on gawk removed. base-files is Essential: yes and it

PATCH: Makefile.in more upgrade friendly.
Hello again, In my constant recompiles of 2.9p1 and 2.9p2, I've noticed that upgrading a current installation with a test compile leads to tons of files being updated even when they don't need to be. The attached patch for Makefile.in splits the install-files target into a bunch of serparate targets: install-dirs, install-prog, install-man, install-conf, which are then all called in

awk/gawk
A quickie question: Could someone tell me why, on RELENG_4, we have a gawk(1) manpage but no gawk executable? Given the manpage links, and the fact that our system awk is really built from gawk sources, I'd expect to have a link from /usr/bin/gawk to /usr/bin/awk (or vice versa). samba-2.2.5 -- a minor "make install" problem and 2 suggestions
Hi, I would like to ask you to consider the attached patch for inclusion into the next samba release. The patch addresses the following three points: 1. 'make install' with VPATH fails at one point ( $(srcdir)/script/findsmb vs. script/findsmb ) 2. support for 'make DESTDIR=<somewhere> install' (e.g. to build a binary package) 3. support for 'configure

Need help with pipe()
Hello. I have an R program that calls gawk (GNU Awk 3.06 for Windows) from within pipe() to preprocess a large file before it is read into a data frame with read.table(). I've recently upgraded from Win98SE to WinXP, and have also upgraded from R1.5.0 to R1.6.1 over the past month or so. This program worked before the upgrade(s), but now fails. I observe the following sort of behavior with

Makefile objdirs patch
I've attached a patch which fixes a minor Makefile glitch when building in a different directory than the source directory. The patch is relative to OpenSSH 2.3.0p1. [LLVMdev] Compile a project into LLVM Bitcode
> You can use Clang to compile source to bitcode: > > clang -c hello.c -emit-llvm -o hello.bc > Yes. My problem is to automatically create .bc files with ./configure && make. Ideally, when compiling a project like "grep", I'd like to obtain a single .bc file containing all the project's functions, instead of the grep binary executable. I already tried

[PATCH] contrib/cygwin/Makefile: Install ssh-copy-id
Hi, could somebody with checkin rights please apply the below patch to the Cygwin postinstall Makefile? Read every second line from ASCII file
Dear all, I have an ASCII file where records are separated by a blank. I would like to read those data; however, only the data in rows 1, 3, 5, 7, ... are important; the other lines (2,4,6,8,....) contain no useful information for me. So far I used awk/gawk to do it: gawk '{if ((FNR % 2) != 0) {print $0}}' infile.txt > outfile.txt What is the recommended way to accomplish this in R?

Errors compiling tinc 1.0.12 on QNAP NAS (x86)
Hello, first of all - thanks for creating tinc! It has become an invaluable tool for me to securely join a multitude of servers and clients through a VPN. Today, I was trying to compile Tinc 1.0.12 on my newly purchased x86 Linux-based QNAP TS-239 Pro NAS device (Kernel 2.6.30.6). The configure-script finishes without error (see attached config.log). However, configure.status fails with

Small Makefile.in Patch
This is a fairly inconsequential patch, but it comes in handy in a few instances. The patch simply splits install-files into "install-files" and "install-sysconf" - taking all of the sysconfdir stuff and putting in its own target which I then added to 'install' and 'install-nokeys'. I then added an install-nosysconf to NOT do that stuff. This helped us

[Patch] Makefile.in, new install-nosysconf target
For various reasons, it makes our life easier at USC to have a 'install-nosysconf' target much like the install-nokeys target that was added a while back. I mentioned this a few months back on this list and people seemed to think it wouldn't be a problem to get it into the mainline tree. I've attached the patch -- it should keep 100% backwards compatibility. Thanks. -- Phil

[PATCH/cygwin] Fix cygwin specific Makefile and a bug in the ssh-host-config script
Hi, could somebody be so kind to check in the follwoing patch? It fixes two problems: - contrib/cygwin/Makefile: Installs new docs and stops trying to install RFC.nroff. - contrib/cygwin/ssh-host-config: Fixes a condition which tries to find out if ssh or sshd processes are still running. The old version unfortunately stumbles over user names which contain the substring

Database left unlocked by Tcl bindings
I discovered, while trying to set up Tcl bindings for Notmuch (https://notmuchmail.org/), which uses Xapian, that flintlock was not being locked (I had lost updates). I then found that opening a Xapian database for writing directly via the Xapian Tcl bindings also silently fails to lock flintlock. I have taken a copy of flint_lock.cc to play with, and I find that it locks the file when called
