RC1 still broken with Cisco 7960?
After downloading the latest CVS head and testing it with the Cisco 7960 (SIP v7.2), it appears that it's still necessary to patch rtp.c to avoid audio dropouts. I'm quite sure my gateway provider is running an older version of Asterisk, and I suppose that this may be the root cause. But I mention the issue here because it seems like it would be a mistake to ship Asterisk 1.0 if it

anyone compile source on Mac OS X?
Did anyone have any luck compiling rsync 2.5.2, from source, on Mac OS X? Doing a straight ./configure && make, I get the error below. I've searched the lists here with no luck. Any pointers, or any URL with more info would be great. Thanks! RSYNC 2.5.2 COMPILING ERROR ON MAC OS X: root# make Please ignore warnings below about mktemp -- it is used in a safe way cc -g -O2

Need advice on Linux/Samba as PDC
I've just upgraded my Linux (RedHat v7.2 + v2.4.17 kernel) box to Samba v2.2.3a. Now I'm ready to set up winbindd so that this box may act as a PDC. First, a little background. I have previously been using Samba 2.2.2 as a master workgroup server for Linux and Win98 clients. Now I want to add support for use as a PDC with Win2K clients. I've set up my /etc/nsswitch.conf per the

rsynd-2.5.1 / hlink.c patches
Platform: Compaq OpenVMS Alpha 7.3 Compiler: Compaq C T6.5 The following patch resolves compile problems with the HLINK.C module. The cast on function argument for the qsort() routine was wrong, and not allowing the compile to complete. When the function definiton of the hlink_compare() is corrected to have the const qualifiers, the cast inside the qsort() function call is no longer

building rsync on MacOSX 10.2.2
This is to let you know that although rsync compiled on MacOSX 10.2.2, it failed certain tests. Since writing this I've recompiled with zlib 1.1.4 and everything appears smooth. Since this is intermittant, I'll send it off anyways in the hops that someone else may see it. It also *might* apply to the "known issues" entry about "unexpected close." (Similar symptoms, but it may just be a shared codepath on the messages. Note that the dumped len in my output(4)

Add Win2kPro Workstation to new Linux PDC
I created a new virtual Linux server running the Red Hat v7.2 distribution. After getting a MySQL/PHP application running, the next step was to add a Win2kPro Workstation to a new Linux PDC. Towards that end I modified the smb.conf file as described below to turn the virtual Linux server into a stand alone PDC. A 'MACHINE.SID' was created in the /usr/local/samba/private directory.

enforcing windows permissions on "smbmount"-ed shares
Hi, I'm using samba/winbind to integrate a linux machine on to a windows network. I'm at the point where I have a unified logon scheme with logins to the linux machine being authenticated through the windows PDC (using winbind). I also have a windows-based file server with shares that I can successfully "smbmount" on the linux machine. My problem is that I would like to be

[PATCH] Android port
Hi all. I am experimenting with building OpenSSH server for Android. The attached patch makes OpenSSH successfully build (at least) using Android NDK with libldns. The patch is mostly trivial. The biggest change perhaps is disabling password authentication code. I would like to receive feedback and hopefully get it accepted into the mainline eventually. Regards, Dmitry -------------- next

Compiling a static version of rsync
I need to compile a static version of rsync. Various versions of the following command fail to produce a static version after the "make" stage. Build box is i386 solaris 8. Am I correct in thinking only the linker builds static libraries? /tmp/rsync-2.5.5# ./configure --enable-static --disable-dynamic /tmp/rsync-2.5.5# ./configure --enable-static --disable-shared /tmp/rsync-2.5.5#

number point under-flow
Hello, I've come across the following situation in R-1.8.1 (compile + running under RedHat 7.1): > phyper(24, 514, 5961-514, 53, lower.tail=T) [1] 1 > phyper(24, 514, 5961-514, 53, lower.tail=F) [1] -1.037310e-11 I'd expect the later to be 0 or some very small positive number. Is this a number under-flow of the calculation? Do you think I'm safe if I just set the result to 0
