HELP! Excel and R give me totally different regression results using the exact same data
Hallo, I am totally confused why Excel and R give me totally different regression results for the data below. If you know the solution, please enlighten me. In Excel I used LINEST() and Data>Data Analysis>Regression and both (fortunately) gave the same result. The coefficients were: /b0=1.16, b1=0.957, b2=0.024, R2=0.0027, adjusted R2=-0.017/ In R I used

export 3D array to .txt file
Hey, I have an array with the dimensions 200x6x200 and I want to save it in a textfile. I want to be able to reload the text file to get the same array again: new.array<-load(mytextfile.txt) or something similar. I was not able to figure out a way to do that with write.table without having to save 200 text files. Is there another way? Thank you! Frauke -- View this message in context:

R functions with array arguments
Dear R users, I'm trying to implement a self-defined function with multiple arguments, one of which is an array, but I find that the result is a single value instead of an array. This is the example I'm working on: # define integration limit vector > Mabslim <- c(-17.95, -16.65, -17.27, -17.62, -16.76, -17.07, -17.02) # Define function > schech<-function(x,alpha,xstar)

Dear List I am new to R and to the list and will try best as I can be clear and concise. My apologies if anything I write contravenes the posting code on this list. I would also like to say I have run through most of the material on the R website before writing this email however, I am stuck. Here is what I want to do and what I have done 1. Problem with fitdistr for gamma in R 2.2.0
Dear R developers, I have encountered strange behaviour of fitdistr for gamma in recent R build i.e. 2.2.0. I have attached the code for data at the end of this mail so you can reproduce the problem. In short, I am able to run fitdistr under 2.1.0 without problems, while I get the following error under 2.2.0 (Version 2.2.0 Patched (2005-11-15 r36348)) > fitdistr(otm, "gamma") Error

Help With Post-hoc Testing
I am trying to do post-hoc tests associated with a repeated measures analysis with on factor nested within respondents. The factor (SOI) has 17 levels. The overall testing is working fine, but I can''t seem to get the multiple comparisons to work. The first step is to "stack" the data. Then I used "lme" to specify and test the overall model. Finally

Correlation Matrix with a Covariate
R Help - I'm trying to run a correlation matrix with a covariate of "age" and will at some point will also want to covary other variables concurrently. I'm using the "psych" package and have tried other methods such as writing a loop to extract semi-partial correlations, but it does not seem to be working. How can I accomplish this? library(psych) > set.cor(y =

Partial correlation test
Dear all, I'm writing my manuscript to publish after analysis my final data with ANOVA, ANCOVA, MANCOVA. In a section of my result, I did correlation of my data (2 categirical factors with 2 levels: Quantity & Quality; 2 dependent var: Irid.area & Casa.PC1, and 1 co-var: SL). But as some traits (here Irid.area) are significantly influenced by the covariate (standard length, SL), I

wireframe advice - with reproducible code
Dear List, i am trying to produce a 3d plot using wireframe using the code: wireframe(Residuals_FD ~ Elevation * Temperature, data = data2, scales = list(arrows = FALSE), drape = TRUE, colorkey = TRUE) As you can see when the code (using the data below) is run the plot area is set-up correctly but the actual surface is missing? Any help would be greatly appreciated. Chris #data Elevation

How to define proper breaks in RFM analysis
Hi Your statement about attaching data is problematic. We cannot do much with it. Instead use output from dput(yourdata) to show us what exactly your data look like. We also do not know how do you want to split your data. It would be nice if you can show also what should be the bins with respective data. Unless you provide this information you probably would not get any sensible answer. Cheers

ggplot cumsum refined question (?)
OK, so maybe last night was a little too much at one throw, so I have reduced the data to two stations- one that has precipitation and one that does not. This is going to be in the context of a larger data set. I would like to be able to issue a ggplot command and have cum sum just act on the facets (factors) to apply this. library(chron) library(ggplot2) DF <- structure(list(date_time =

help for segmented package
Hi, I am trying to find m breakpoints of a linear regression model. I used the segmented package. It works fine for small number of predicators and breakpoints.(3 r.v. 3 points). However, my model has 14 variables it even would not work even for just one breakpoints!. The error message is always estimated breakpoints are out of range. Since my problem is time related problem. So I
