least squares regression using (inequality) restrictions
Dear R Users, I would like to make a lesast squares regression similar to that what is done by the command "lm". But additionally, I would like to impose some restrictions: 1) The sum of all regression coefficients should be equal to 1. 2) Each coefficient should assume a value between 0 and 1. (inequality restrictions) Which command is the best to use in order to solve this problem

Vorbis still glitching on metadata update?
Greetings, I am trying to track down a bug with intermittant glitching in our Vorbis streams. I am running Icecast 2.3.2 on Ubuntu 9.04. Several Vorbis clients seem to glitch on some (not all) metadata updates. As we update metadata 3 to 4 times a minute, this is something we are trying to fix, VLC gives the following output on metadata update: main warning: the mixer got a packet in

ts.plot and x axes customization
Dear List, I would be pleased if someone can help me with the following issue: I'm about to plot two time series in one plot via ts.plot which looks like: ts.plot(series1, series2, main=main, xlab=xlab, ylab=ylab, col=c("green", "red", "blue"), lwd=2) The problem is, that R automatically sets the x axes labels in 5-year-intervalls. Same y-axis on multiple plots?
Greetings, I am attempting to use R throug PL/R in PostgreSQL to make several graphs (they show usage over time for radiochannels). However, as some never go above 100 in a 24 hour period, and others go well over 500, they get different y-axis values (which normally would be a good thing). However, as I want to overlay the graphs to add/remove channels in CSS on a webpage, I need a set y-axis.

Use Windows USB drivers?
Hi, I'm using an application that works very well with Wine but that application requires a specific USB hardware where no (and no similar) Linux driver is available for. Therefore my question is: the application comes with a fully working Windows driver for that hardware, is it possible to use that driver to access the hardware via Wine? Until now I could not get it work but I'd expect

Samba for Windows? :P
Hi, just wondering if anyone had ever though about making a port of Samba for windows. Now you may think "What's the point?" Well I'll tell you if you had as much control over smb as you have with Samba then you wouldn't need it for windows.. but you don't. Not unless you buy Windows 2000 Server or now 2003. By porting Samba to Windows you could take control
