DOE in R
Hi.
I'm a student in a graduate program at Simon Fraser University in Canada.
I am trying to run a simple screening experiment with some simulated data.
I simply want to do an ANOVA of an experiemnt with 5 factors (4 have 2
levels, the last has 3 levels) and 48 runs (ie, full factorial).
The thing is that I have multiple observations for each level combination
(run).
So,

Problem in .First.lib
Hello!
I downloaded a package "multtest" (from bioconductor.org) in R, and
installed it by 'R CMD <package>' (after unzipping and taring).
The problem is when I say 'library(multtest)' in R, the following error is
generated:
Error in dyn.load(x, as.logical(local), as.logical(now)) :

graphics pages?
Dear R People:
In S Plus, if you have a function which calls the plot
function several times, you get several "pages" of graphics
output.
Is there an eqivalent in R, please?
R version 2.2.1 windows
Thanks in advance!

Non-parametric test for repeated measures and post-hoc single comparisons in R?
Some attribute x from 17 individuals was recorded repeatedly on 6 time
points using a Likert scale with 7 distractors. Which statistical
test(s) can I apply to check whether the changes along the 6 time points
were significant?
set.seed( 123 )
x <- matrix( sample( 1:7, 17*6, repl=T ),
nrow = 17, byrow = TRUE,
dimnames = list(1:17, paste( 'T', 1:6, sep='' ))

Constrained optimization
Greetings, R-Wizards:
I'm trying to find an extremum subject to a nonlinear constraint. (Yes, I
have perused the archives but have found nothing positive.) The details of
the problem are these:
In a paper published some years ago in Technometrics, ("Confidence bands for
cumulative distribution functions of continuous random variables"

Friedman test for replicated blocked data
Hi,
I would need to extend the Friedman test to a replicated
design. Currently the function: friedman.test(y, ...) only works for
unreplicated designs.
I found in Conover 1999 "Practical Nonparamteric statistics" an
extension of the formula to my case.
Nevertheless, other sources, like Sheskin 2000 "Parametric and
Nonparametric statistical Procedures" and Daniel 1990

Correct contrast for unreplicated 2K factorial design
Hi all,
I have been trying to reproduce an analysis from Douglas Montgomery?s
book on design and analysis of experiments. Table 6.10 of example 6.2 on
page 246, gives a table as follows:
> NPK <- expand.grid(A=mp,B=mp,C=mp,D=mp)
> Rate <- c(45,71,48,65,68,60,80,65,43,100,45,104,75,86,70,96)
> filtration <- cbind(NPK,Rate)
> filtration

Quelplot
Hi all,
Does anyone have an R implementation of the queplot (K.?M. Goldberg
and B.?Iglewicz. Bivariate extensions of the boxplot. Technometrics,
34(3):pp. 307?320, 1992)? I'm struggling with the estimation of the
asymmetry parameters.

Uncensoring a dataset - resent
Does anyone know of an R package that I can use to uncensor a normal or
log-normal dataset? I'm particularly interested in the MLE method of
Cohen (1959), "Simplified estimators for the normal distribution when
samples are single censored or truncated," Technometrics, 1(3), 217-237.
Of course, if there is anything better, I'd be glad to hear about that
too.
Thanks.

RJS not sent as text/javascript
I''ve made a couple of other posts about this and finally figured out what was
wrong. For some reason, the RJS response was not being sent with a content
type of "text/javascript" (which it should be, per the dox). The following
line in each controller method that renders RJS makes my app work:
@headers[''Content-Type''] = ''text/javascript''

How to read NTFS ADS (alternate data steams) using libsmbclient?
Hi Samba team,
We have a Windows SMB share which contains some files with ADS (alternate
data streams). In our client C/C++ code that runs on a Linux client, we
want to retrieve the list of ADS of a file and download all the streams,
similar to what is provided by smbclient's interactive session (allinfo,
get).
But as we evaluate libsmbclient (as we'd like to do above in code), we

OCFS Performance on a Hitachi SAN
I've been reading this group for a while and I've noticed a variety of comments regarding running OCFS on top of path-management packages such as EMC's Powerpath, and it brought to mind a problem I've been having.
I'm currently testing a six-node cluster connected to a Hitachi 9570V SAN storage array, using OCFS 1.0.12. I have six LUNs presented to the hosts using HDLM,

Tukey's one degree of freedom for nonadditivity?
Is there code available to decompose interactions involving at least
one nominal factor with more than 2 levels as described, e.g., by Tukey
or by Mandel (1971, Technometrics, 13: 1-18)?
Tukey's model:
E(y[i,j]) = mu0 + a[i] + b[j] + c*a[i]*b[j],
estimating a, b, and c so sum(a) = sum(b)= 0. Mandel essentially
describes a singular value decomposition of the interaction.
Thanks,

Zero-inflated neg.bin. model and pscl package
Dear list,
I'm currently trying to develop a model to assess clam yield potential in a
lagoon. I'm using the zeroinfl function of the pscl package to fit a
Zero-inflated negative binomial model, given the high occurrence of zero
counts.
I don't understand from the sentence in the pscl guide "Zero-inflated count
models are a type of two-component mixture model, with a component

Create multiple domains from single saved domain state (is UUID/name fixed?)
Hi,
I would like to save a running domain (ie. disk + memory) and be able to
restore it multiple times creating duplicates of the orignal domain all
starting from the same state.
Use case:
I'm building a task-processing system for use in a CI flow.
I want to run multiple VMs in parallel using the same image (always
starting from the same state).
And to avoid needlessly booting between each

[LLVMdev] Patch to allow llvm.gcroot to work with non-pointer allocas.
I'm moving this thread to llvm-dev in the hopes of reaching a wider
audience.
This patch relaxes the restriction on llvm.gcroot so that it can work with
non-pointer allocas. The only changes are to Verifier.cpp - it appears from
my testing that llvm.gcroot always worked fine with non-pointer allocas,
except that the verifier wouldn't allow it. I've used this patch to build an

Thanks for the heads up Chris.
Talin, how is your GC dealing with non-pointers (be it allocas or not)? What
is the use-case (either in C or LLVM)?
