[LLVMdev] Node definitions, Pseudo ops and lowering SELECT/COND_BRANCH to branch instructions
Hello, Im back trying to finish my backend to a simple RISC cpu SABRE now that most of the tedious process of examining undergraduate students is out of the way. I have managed to describe the registers and the instructions in the architecture and have added support for 32 bit immediates (thanks to Christopher Lamb) as the instruction set only supports 17 bit immediates directly. Could

[LLVMdev] Node definitions, Pseudo ops and lowering SELECT/COND_BRANCH to branch instructions
Howdy, <---stuff deleted -----> Basically the architecture I want to compile to (SABRE) RISC does not support a conditional branch or a select instruction. It supports explicit branches of the form. blt %a, %b, imm // branch on less than iff %a < %b then pc = pc + imm So there are various branch instructions like .... ble, beq, bne, blt, bltu and bleu (unsigned) Im just

[LLVMdev] Backend: 2 address + 17bit immediate
Hello, Im (trying) to write a backend for a simple 32bit processor architecture, with a single instruction format having no condition code registers. www.docm.mmu.ac.uk/STAFF/A.Nisbet/Sabre.pdf is the short 15 page document describing the architecture of Sabre. It is a Celoxica developed research/teaching processor, pages 5-8 contain relevant information for targetting it from a new compiler

Ecological Niche Modelling on R
Dear all, I have strong interest on Ecological Niche Model, which in general use a set of environmental variables (continuous, categorical etc) and Presence (or Presense/Absence) records for species. I think that "grasp" and "adehabitat" packages could help me on these tasks. My input layers are on ASC format, and the record of species is a data-frame with X, Y, name of

implementing ecological models in R
Hi all, we found, that R is not only *the* superior data analysis, graphics and statistics package, but it is also a general tool for implementing, running and teaching ecological models. Last week we held our second course "Modelling in Limnology" using R. Some material (code and docs) was produced for this purpose and may be interesting to someone else, so I put the tutorial

Ecological Detective worked solutions [R-wiki]
Hi, I've added several pages of worked solutions for the book Ecological Detective by Hilborn and Mangel to the R-wiki. My hope is that this will be of use to others working through this book without access to a local expert. I am certainly not an expert, local or otherwise. I have posted solutions for chapters 3-6, which includes some really horrible direct translations of the pseudocode

course in ecological data analysis
Dear all, For my PhD study I'm looking for relevant courses/workshops (short term) in ecological data anlysis with R in Europe. After 2 days searching I'm convinced that google is probably not the right medium to find this information. If anyone can help me I will be most grateful. Best regards - J. (ecological) model sensitivity analysis book
Dear all, I know that my question may be so general, but I would like to know if is there a good book for model sensitivity analysis (applied to ecology?) that use R? Is there any package dedicated to model sensitivity analysis on R? Cheers milton [[alternative HTML version deleted]]

[LLVMdev] Writing a backend basic information
Hello, Ive started writing a backend to a simple 32bit RISC processor core with the goal of undertaking some flexible instruction processor core research on FPGAs and also to use it for teaching computer architecture. I have a requirement to generate instructions like below, where the (17bit) immediate value is (preferably) omitted if it has a zero value. add %15, %14 add %12, %23 - 18 mov

Using XY location data to calculate ecological parameters
Dear R gurus, I have XY data giving the locations of tree seedlings that were surveyed during a 210 meter belt transect. This belt transect was taken by stretching a line across the field, then measuring all seedlings within 1 meter on either side of the line. The end result was XY coordinates and height for ~1,300 seedlings. I would like to use that data to calculate density of

ecological meaning of randomForest vegetation classification?
Hi, everyone, I haven't found anything similar in the forum, so here's my problem (I'm no expert in R nor statistics): I have a data set of 59.000 cases with 9 variables each (fractional coverage of 9 different plant types, such as deciduous broad-leaved temperate trees or evergreen tropical trees etc.), which was generated by a vegetation model. In order to evaluate the quality of

Hidden Markov model in R: books or tutorial biomed/ecology slant
Hi, I was just wondering if there are any books on R that have applications using Hidden Markov models or anyone with tutorials/exercises that can be shared. Ideally, these would have a bio/ecological slant though not neccesarily. Any suggestions would be appreciated. Thanks! [[alternative HTML version deleted]]

re: box counting method and other landscape ecology measures
Hi all, I wish to implement various landscape ecology measures through R, such as: box counting dimension; twist number statistics; contagion and lacuniarity indices; angular second moment; adjacency measures; dominance indices; etc ... Some of the measures can be applied to shape analysis and classification. Is anyone implementing any of these measures? If so I would like to contribute and

Task View for ecology/environmental science
Having just discovered "Task Views" I see there isn't one for ecology/environmental science. I don't have the expertise to help with this, but I think it would be a very useful addition if there was any person (s) on the list willing to help create such a Task View. I am sure the maintainers of the Task Views will pick up on any responses to this post from volunteers. I
