setting up a genoud run
Hello - and sorry for a possibly stupid question, I'm just starting to
learn rgenoud.
I am defining a function with 5 parameters (p1, p2, p3, p4a, and p4b)
and then want to optimize it using genoud. But I am doing something
wrong.
Before genoud is even able to run it says: "Error in p2 + 1.2 : 'p2'
is missing".
I assume I did not specify it right. My code is below.

table concerning berufl. From similar SPSS/PSPP runs, the result of
table is correct.

about lm restrictions...
Hello all R-users

I need to make a statistical model and respective ANOVA table
but I get distinct results for
the T-test (in summary(lm.object) function) and
the F-test (in   anova(lm.object) )
shouldn't this two approach give me the same result, i.e
to indicate the same significants terms in both tests???????

The system has two restrictions:
1) sum( x_i ) = 1

merging, interpolating two simulataneous time series
I have a time series for two variables measured simultaneously, but at 
different intervals. The variables are not independent, so the patterns 
in the times series are very similar (one variable goes up when the 
other goes up, etc).
For example, let's pretend my data look something like this (but with 
more noise)...

lm() output with quantiative predictors not the same as SAS
I am trying to use R lm() with quantitative and qualitative predictors, but am
getting different results than those that I get in SAS.
In the R ANOVA table documentation I see that "Type-II tests corresponds to the
tests produced by SAS for analysis-of-variance models, where all of the
predictors are factors, but not more generally (i.e., when there are
quantitative predictors)." Is

Simple lm/regression question
I am trying to use lm for a simple linear fit with weights. The results 
I get from IDL (which I am more familiar with) seem correct and 
intuitive, but the "lm" function in R gives outputs that seem strange to me.
Unweighted case:
 > x<-1:4
 > y<-(1:4)^2
 > summary(lm(y~x))

Syslinux and Asus P4B
Hi,
i found out that Syslinux has a problem with Asus P4B Board. Even if I
use the -s compability option i get always 'Boot failed'.
Do you plan to fix this? If you need further information or a tester for
this problem please contact me.

Hi,
I am considering using R to integrate with a Java application. However, 
before deciding upon R I need to understand if R is capable of dealing with 
multiple requests simulataneously.
Is a single instance of R capable of dealing with multiple simulataneous 
requests or does a new instance of R have to be started for each request?

loop searching the id corresponding to the given index (timestamp)
Hello,
I have the following loop for two data sets: diveData_2008 and
diveData_2009. It uses two other data: diveCond_all and fishTable. The
problem is at the point to identify the dive_id for the given index (index
is timestamp). It keeps on saying
for the1st loop

Asterisk to make multiple extensions simultaneous calls on a single telephone line
Hi Lists,
I have one box with two FXO and two FXS ports, it is running asterisk
inside. I have one sinle POTS line connected to the one FXO and two
phone sets connected to the FXS port.
Extension 6003 is asigned to one fxs and 6004 is asigned to another
fxs, the two extensions can call each other, they can both
make/receive  PSTN call, but they can't make PSTN call simultaneously.

Although the 'spatial' documentation doesn't mention that extractAIC  
works, it does seem to give an output.
I may have misunderstood, but shouldn't the following give at least  
the same d.f.?

I want to identify duplicate numbers and to increase a value of 0.01 for each time that it is duplicated.  
Example:
x=c(1,2,3,5,6,2,8,9,2,2)
I want to do this:

Installing ROR/Webrick app on Windows 2000/2003 Server
Hi all,
I am currently not able to use search since it is disabled, so I will 
ask my question and hope I am not repeating a past question.
I am looking into developing an app to run in Windows 2000/2003 Server 
environment. To install ROR on a server to run an app on Webrick do I 
need any extra steps beyond those needed to install on my development 
laptop (XP prof) ?

	I have a very easy questions (I hope). I had measure a property of plants, growing in three different substrates (A, B and C). The rest of the conditions remained constant. There was very high variation on the results. 
	I want to do address, whether there is any difference in the response (my measurement) from substrate to substrate?
