key in margin area
Hi Is there any way to position a key (legend) outside the plot area? i.e. in the margin between plot area and page margin. I realise I could achieve the same effect by creating a larger plot but not printing the axes and then draw the smaller axes independantly leaving room for the key. However, that wont work very well in my particular case. Thanks in advance Jeremy

for loop problem
Hi, I'm just coming to grips with "for" looping etc. and have a bit of a problem: I want to generate a sequence which goes 1 2 3 4 5 6 7 8 14 15 16 17 18 19 20 21 26 27 ... i.e. 8 consecutive numbers then 5 missed then the next 8 numbers etc. I was going to do this using the seq() function but couldn't figure out how so I thought I'd try a loop: for (x in seq(1,650,13)) {

log axis assignment
Hi again, another problem: This (below) isn't working and as far as I can see it damn well should. What I'm trying to acomplish is to run several data sets through the same graphing procedure, but for the pH data use a log y axis. using this code all graphs are drawn with a linear axis. Surely I should be able to set the ylog option to T using another object (logaxis). for (n in

column name changes based on substrings
Hi peoples, I'm trying to work out a function which will allow me to relace column names on the basis of substrings within the existing names. e.g. I'd like: blah.Na blah2.Na blah3.Mg blah4.Mg blah5.K blah6.K R1 x x x x x x R2 x x x x x x ... to become: Na (%) Na (%) Mg (%) Mg

ControlMaster and packet stuffing
When I'm running interactive ssh session which is ControlMaster and I run scp or sftp to same host, creating another channel, it seems that ssh is stuffing the packets together exceeding MTU. I've for years ran QoS where I prioritize small packets, as it is clean and easy way to guarantee low latency to pretty much all you care for. Unfortunately ControlMaster packet stuffing breaks this,

InPlaceEditor update of page contents ?
Hi all ! InPlaceEditor refreshes only the element that was updated. Is there any way to make it update tons of other stuff ? I have a table where changing a value in it causes changes in most other cells (weight to percentage to money). Thanks for any help ! -- François Beausoleil http://blog.teksol.info/ _______________________________________________ Rails-spinoffs mailing list

barplot plotting problem
Hi, Is there any equivalent of type="n" when constructing barplots which will still construct the axes (plot=F, as it says doesn' plot anything at all). Alternatively I tried setting col="white" and border="white" but the border command does not seem to be operational. True?? Any other ideas? What I'm actually trying to do is construct vertical abline()'s

memtest86+.. How do I load it with pxelinux?
I've just spent at least half an hour swapping files, downloading things and stuffing around with memtest86 and memtest86+. I can't get either to start from pxelinux. Currently I have "memtest86" as the filename, and i'm trying to load it direct (not trying to use memdisk or anything). This just results in a near instant reboot. Am I doing something wrong? I can't

Silence supression
Hello all! First of all, this is my first post to the list. I've tried to find my answers in the forums and by Googling , but no luck. My apologies if this question has been answered before. I've set up an Asterisk box with four local SIP users. The Asterisk box uses a SIP provider for placing external calls and receiving incoming calls as well. In other words, there's no PSTN

ipod software
i'm new to linux but am an experienced windows user (former ;-) under windows i used a program called Anapod Explorer to manage my ipod nano. it was great. i looked just like windows explorer and all i had to do was drag and drop from folders to my ipod to transfer music. very simple and easy to use. i've looked a few ipod software programs under linux, but nothing comes close to Anapod. i

Amazon, Asterisk and reliability beyond a hobby system?
Took me a while but I have finally embraced cloud computing and all the benefits. The only thing I have yet to feel comfortable about putting in the cloud is real live Asterisk boxes to be used in production. I know it's being done because as far as I know Twilio is using Amazon for their Asterisk boxes. I have read all the fun articles on building hobby type systems and that's all great.

NUT on openSUSE 12.3 requires additional systemd service unit
OpenSUSE 12.3 has fully embraced systemd, but to get NUT working correctly now requires some further systemd engineering in addition to the usual NUT configuration files. A new systemd service unit is needed to power off the UPS. The service unit consists of a new file /etc/systemd/system/ups-delayed-shutdown.service [Unit] Description=Initiate delayed UPS shutdown

Extending the AD schema
We're looking at implementing Sudoers LDAP on our Samba 4 AD domain. While this worked perfectly in a test environment previously, I am always extremely nervous about the possibility of stuffing things up on production. Given a domain with multiple DCs (two in our case), should I do add the schema extension with all DCs on line or should one by taken off line to provide an emergency
