I can't quite connect the dots on this, perhaps someone can help. I'm simply trying to create an in-memory database comprising a single document, so that I can run a load of queries against it and see if any of them match the new document (this is to enable users to have 'subscriptions' to saved searches and be alerted every time a new item is published that matches their

The Next Guide Will Be... August 3rd, 2005 The next guide on Sambadmin will about creating a great LDAP infrastructure. I came to this decision after reading my posts. I stated that the core motivation behind all of this is

Rails theory question, where to put a join query
The is something I wrestle with a bit when I construct joined queries.. Perhaps some experienced insight will straighten this out for me. Say you have two tables with two models, ''authors'' and ''posts''. an author has_many posts, a post has_one author. You need methods to do the following queries: find_author(postid) find_posts(authorid) And you are doing a

Easier OggDrop version
Hi. I think that the vorbis team should use this version of OggDrop RC3 as the official OggDrop RC3, because the menu interface is easier to use (& you can see what kind of mode you have chosen). http://www.inf.ufpr.br/~rja00/BQoggdropC1.zip See this thread for more info: http://www.hydrogenaudio.org/forums/showthread.php?s=&postid=4683 <p>I only have one problem now: what

Vista (pre-installed OEM editions) creating new files or folders on network shares
Hi, This post is to prevent other people that are having trouble with Vista clients from going down a blind alley investigating problems in their samba configurations. PayPal WSDL API on Rails anyone ?
Hi ! Has anyone connected to the Mass Pay API of PayPal using Rails ? I need to do this for a customer, and I wanted to know how easy/hard it was. I have no experience using SOAP, WSDL, etc. I saw soap4r[1] on the RAA[2]. This is probably what I''ll need to use. One question I haven''t answered yet is whether soap4r will accept PayPal''s certificates ? Thanks for any

wxRuby is now linked from the wxWindows site
I sent a message to Julian (the primary author of wxWindows), and he immediately added wxRuby to the list of "Related Projects" on the "Community" page of the wxWindows site: http://wxwindows.org/ Thanks to Gour for suggesting this. We are also listed in the Ruby RAA, under Library, GUI. If anyone knows of other places we should be linked, let me know. Or better yet,

New packages?
Hi, I should have win32-changenotify and win32-semaphore out this weekend at some point. Then, the next version of win32-file. And after that? I don''t know. What do you think we should tackle next? What interests you? Different mutex flavors? IE controllers? Exchange interfaces? I think we should probably look a little more at what Python has going forward, too. Just a

Problems with some components of R
Madam, Sir, I have downloaded and transfered to my P.C (Window 98) the version of R which has been split on purpose, that is to say the rw0990b1.zip ,rw0990b2.zip ,etc files. I encountered no problem as far as the installation is concerned. But when I try to run some function ,for instance loess, it issued an error message stating that an underlying Fortran program is not properly loaded.
