kriging in R
Hi
If you read the description of "varcov.spatial" you'll see that it is
used to *predict* a covariance matrix, based on the parameters of the
covariance function. So you don't need the oebserved data, you need
parameters for the covariance function.

help with kriging interpolation
All,
I am new to using R and know some basics. I wish to use kriging in R to
do the following:
given data Y =f(X1,X2,X3,.....,Xn) --1000+ irregular measured data set.
I would like to be able to get a single value y given sinle input set
(x1,x2,x3,...xn)
A google search on this takes me lierally to the same example on involving
analysis with soil sampling and I cannot figure out how to

LIDAR Problem in R (THANKS for HELP)
Hi All,
I am a PhD student in forestry science and I am working with LiDAR data set
(huge data set). I am a brand-new in R and geostatistic (SORRY, my
background it?s in forestry) but I wish improve my skill for improve myself.
I wish to develop a methodology to processing a large data-set of points
(typical in LiDAR) but there is a problem with memory. I had created a
subsample data-base but

2/3d interpolation from a regular grid to another regular grid
Hello R users,
I have numerical data sampled on two grids, each one shifted by 0.5
from the other.
For example:
grid1 = expand.grid(x=0:3, y=0.5:2.5)
grid2 = expand.grid(x=0.5:2.5, y=0:3)
gridFinal = expand.grid(x=0.5:2.5, y=0.5:2.5)
plot(gridFinal, xlim=c(0,3), ylim=c(0,3), col="black", pch=19)
points(grid1, xlim=c(0,3), ylim=c(0,3), col="red", pch=19)
points(grid2,

Indicator Kriging
Hi R-Users
Is there any package in R that work Indicator Kriging?
Or somebody is working in a link between GSLIB library in
FORTRAN for R?
Thank you very much for your help.

How to "smoothen" a geodata set in R
Hello, I'm new to this list. Sorry if my question or parts of it already came
up before.
For my research in geostatistics, I am working with large sets of data in R
(basically large matrices containing discrete x and y coordinates and a
value for a certain parameter). These sets are obtained by kriging. The
operation I'd like to perform is smoothen the output data set. I want to do

Plotting a kriging on a map
Hi list,
Well, this time I’ve a doubt with mapping generation.
I was already able to read and plot shapefiles, plot point on this map. All
this without any problems, but now I want to do something that I think, only
Golden Software Surfer is capable of.
I would like to plot a kriging result on the existing map (map script
below). Well I looked for on the net, but I was not able to be sure of

non-linear trends in kriging model
Hi
I am struggling to fit a non-linear trend using the
likfit function in geoR.
Specifically I want a sigmoidal function, something
like SSfpl in the nls package to fit the trend. But
it seems trend.spatial in geoR only works with lm or
glm type models.
Any ideas how I can specify the model to calculate the
kriging parameters using REML, including the
parameters of a sigmoidal trend function

Indicator Kriging?
Hello All!
I like to do some indicator kriging with R.
So far I used geoR for simple and ordinary kriging.
Does anybody know which package I should use?
Thanks for your help!
Sascha!

Bayesian Block Kriging?
Hello,
I'm interested in doing Bayesian kriging using R. I see that the
package geoR has a function that will allow one to do this
(krige.bayes). However, my data are not in the form of points, but
rather they are blocks that represent spatial averages (i.e., the number
of fishing hooks per month in a given lat x long square). I am
therefore interested in treating the data as

kriging C/C++ code
Hello to everybody !
I don't have a question directly connected with R, but it takes starting
point from the use of the R function Krig for kriging interpolation and
from the idea of making a different implemetation of the function for my
purposes.
Doas anyone know where can I find free C or C++ codes of kriging ?
As always, thanks a lot in advance,
Paola.

2d kriging with anisotropy on an irregular network (RandomFields Package)
Dear List
I am using the RandomFields package, and I have a problem when 2d-kriging, with an anisotropy, some values from an irregular network.
It works well when :
- 2d-kriging, without any anisotropy, some data from an irregular network
- 2d-kriging, with and without anisotropy, some data from a regular network
- 3d-kriging, with and without anisotropy, some data from a regular network

AIC and significance tests
Hi
I have two geostatistical models from geoR. An ordinary kriging model with
AIC=-148.6 and a universal kriging model with AIC=-156.7, there are 345
data points. The improvement shown by the AIC by adding a trend component
to the model seems quite small given the number of data points, is there a
test to see if the improvement to the model fit is significant?
Thanks

shapefile kriging
I'm new to R and I'm working on point shapefiles. Is there a way that you could interpolate a shapefile via kriging in R using an attribute? All examples on the internet are using txt files and CSVs. Thanks a lot.

kriging with geoR package
Hi all,
I have to draw a map of microorganisms repartition in a sample. I use the
"image" function of geoR package to build the map but there are three
problems:
1) the legend is Horizontal (with or without vert.leg=TRUE)
2) I want to plot the position of organisms and level curves of density on
the map but I don't find the script to insert these data on the map.
3)the grey range

Interpolation or Kriging
Hello!
Here is my problem, I have got a data set that contains values of
intensity over a regular interval of time.
What I need to do is to resample this data set (or curve) at a
different interval of time x (1000 predictions will be made to
resample the curve).
So in order to perform such an operation I am required to do some
kind of interpolation.
I know that through kriging, the

Help with Kriging
R Experts,
I'm looking for some help with the geoR package. I'm trying to krig
some data without using a global neighborhood. I would like to set my
moving neighborhood to a distance, say 100 meters, where I know my data
is spatially correlated. I have tried the ksline function, but that
only allows my moving neighborhood to be set to a number of data points.
But, since my data

geoR size limit problem
Hi all,
I tried to produce some kriged surfaces with geoR (latest version). The size
of the grid should be around 900 x 650 cells (what I find is not a very big
grid), and the number of points is around 2500. The command krige.conv
stopped after arround 5 min saying it can not allocate a vector with around
1.5 billion units. Sounds reasonable.
Is there a workaround? How would I partition the

kriging shapefiles
Hi! Im new to R and I need to interpolate a shapefile using kriging. I've been able to plot/read the shapefile using the package maptools or rgdal. I've searched the internet for sample codes but most of the kriging codes that I've found done in R is done using txtfiles or CSVs. An example could be of great help. Thanks.
