load() failed to load .Rdata file in AWS-Ububtu
Hi Christofer, The shiny code you have written does not depend on loading the Dat.RData file. I commented out that line and ran your shiny app on my machine and it works fine. What happens if you comment out (or remove) the line load("/home/ubuntu/Dat.RData) Does your shiny app still fail? If so, then your problem is quite basic with your AWS setup. Try to work through a simple

load() failed to load .Rdata file in AWS-Ububtu
Hi Eric, thanks for your further pointer. I have put a line with load() function just as an illustration of a bigger project of mine, which appears failing due to load() function issue. If I comment out that line my shiny app is working correctly locally and globally. otherwise, locally my shiny app is working but not with AWS. load() failed to load .Rdata file in AWS-Ububtu
Thanks Eric for your pointer. However I just altered the argument of load() function a little bit to get that loaded. Solution of Rcmdr Problem in Quantian OS, Thanks...
As you know, i have problem about Rcmdr in the 2.4.0 version of R, it can't be run properly in Quantian due to that Tcl/Tk does not support it. But, now, with helps from Dirk Eddelbuettel, problem was solved. The solution is just that reinstallation of R from debian packages not by compiling of 2.4.0 version source code. During the process, i noticed a srange thing, that is, if i start R in

load() failed to load .Rdata file in AWS-Ububtu
Hi Christofer, The directory /srv/shiny-server would normally be owned by the root user. Your options would seem to be to either (1) bring up the R session as root (dangerous) or (2) try copying the file to your local directory and read it from there (if allowed). e.g. from the Unix shell: > cd ~ (i.e. cd to your home directory) > cp /srv/shiny-server/Dat.Rdata . Problems with environmental variables set with Sys.putenv
Hi, I see some weird behavior when loading a specific dataframe after changing the value of an enviroment variable using Sys.putenv(). Alas, I can't reproduce it from an arbitrary dataframe. Error in opening .RData containing a genefilter object
Hi, I discover that when I save a workspace containing a genefilter (pkg from Bioconductor) object I cannot open no more after. I have to restore the .RData file from a backup to be able to start R again. I didn't upgrade to Version 2.2 but I'm not sure that it will solve the problem. Did anyone have encounter the same problem? Below is a short r session to reproduce the error: ...

load() failed to load .Rdata file in AWS-Ububtu
Hi again, I hope this is the right place to post my question on running R within Ubuntu, however if not, any pointer on right distribution list will be helpful. I am currently using R in Ubuntu which is hosted in Amazon - AWS. I have a .Rdata file in AWS which I am trying to load in R. Used following code, however, fails to load showing some permission issue. However that same .Rdata file is

corrupted .RData
Hello All, I'm suffering from a corrupted .RData which I believe arose from a shutdown while the session was in the process of saving the image. I wonder if theres something I can do to recover the data? (the fatal error message is contained below) Unfortunately, there was quite a bit of new code prior to my latest backup, which I would hate to rewrite. kind regards andy

R 1.1.1 slow to launch
I have installed my own version of R1.1.1 under my home area.(the system version being 0.90) but I been having problems launching R especially with large .RData files. For example starting R in a directory with a 1.7M RData file puts a heavy load on the CPU and disk and after 10 minutes I kill the job with ^C a message says R : Copyright 2000, The R Development Core Team Version 1.1.1 (August

valgrind complains about save (PR#9096)
valgrind complains about the save command in R 2.3.1 as shown by the script included below. Of course, I don't know whether this "Conditional jump or move depends on uninitialised value(s)" is really a bug. Experience with similar issues in my own code says it may be, but it is also hard to tell. Having no familiarity with the code cited in deflate.c, I leave the issue to experts.

Crash when running functions from contributed packages
Hello all, I am somewhat new to S-plus and would really appreciate any help you might have on the following problem: I installed S-plus (0.65.1) on a Sun box (Solaris) and it runs fine as far as I can tell. I also installed the cluster and multiv contributed packages. The problem I have is that I get a core dump everytime I try to run a function in the contributed packages. This seems

loading of an unwanted namespace
I have a debugging environment for the survival package, perhaps unique to me, but I find it works very well. To wit, a separate directory with copies of the source code but none of the package accuements of DESCRIPTION, NAMESPACE, etc. This separate space does NOT contain a copy of src/init.c Within this I use R --vanilla, attach my .RData file, survival.so file, and away we go. That is,

How to remove an object that is loaded every time R is opened?
Dear R users, I'm a newbie and have another basic question that you guys can answer for me. So, I've been noticing that an object (data frame) called "FossilFuel" is loaded as default when I first open up the R (see below). I created this data frame a while ago which is a data set for tutorial and I don't need this any more. I'm not sure why this happens and wonder if

R-1.0.0 on alpha/osf1 memory glitch (PR#490)
Digital Alpha (various), Digital UNIX V4.0[EF], R-1.0.0, gcc, f77 When using batch mode with the save option, an error message is issued. However [I have just discovered that] it appears that the operation does complete, i.e. the .RData file is saved successfully. The main problem is that the return code is non-zero (and so it is impossible to distinguish this "non-error" from some
