Limma - 2x2 factorial design matrix
Hi all, I'm working on microarray and currently analyzing the microrarray data using limmaGUI. Loop design has been applied in this experiment. This is a 2X2 factorial experiment where there are control and treatment at 2 different time points, week 6 and 9. The experimental design is almost the same as the limmaGUI work example: Weaver Data set. I would like to look at the effect of

*Building* a covariance matrix efficiently
deaRs, I want to build a covariance matrix out of the data from a binary file, that I can read in chunk by chunk, with each chunk containing a single observation vector X. I wonder how to do that most efficiently, avoiding the calculation of the full symmetric matrices XX'. The trivial non-optimal approach boils down to something like: Q <- matrix(rnorm(100000),ncol=200) M <-

create matrix
Hi all, I have a dataset consisting of 5 columns and over 5000 rows. Each row gives information about an individual animal, including longevity, i.e. at what age an animal died. For the model I use I need to create n rows for each animal, n being its longevity, and a new column 'survival' with a binary 0/1 outcome. When an animal died e.g. at age 5, there have to be 5 rows of identical

SMA and EMA in package TTR
Hi, Just wondering for the SMA and EMA in package TTR, is it possible to me to code it so that, say if I need to calculate SMA (x, n=100), when the sample size is less than 100, it will give me the SMA (x, k) where k is the sample size of the data? Right now it only gives me an invalid n error. Thanks! [[alternative HTML version deleted]]

Hi all I have just downloaded the sma package from CRAN. Solaris snmpd/init.sma service
First off, new to puppet here, but so far it''s been exceptionally easy to install and get running. I''ve got it on a handful of solaris 10/x86 zones, and it''s working well. I had one gotcha that I ran into, which turned out to be a combination of a sun bug and and just some slight weirdness. I was trying to get the stock solaris snmpd service running (net-snmp 5, by

[LLVMdev] LLVM
Jingling, I faced the same issue in using LLVM for an introductory compiler course this semester. The way I am (optimistically) addressing it is that I have given the students a tarball of LLVM containing most of LLVM but very few optimizations. In particular, we've only given them a few essential transformations that the front-end or lli need, and any transformations used by those

[LLVMdev] LLVM
Hi Chris, I understand that LLVM is now available in the public domain. I assume many more optimisations have been added to the system. I need to decide which compiler system I will use for my advanced compiler course this year. Many students enjoyed working with your llvm last year. Thanks for the input. ---Jingling On Mon, Feb 23, 2004 at 09:20:01PM -0600, Chris Lattner wrote: > On Mon,

Producing a SMA signal when closing price is above the moving average for 3 days
I have loaded price data for GE and then calculated a 50 day simple moving average. Then I have a created a ifelse statement that produce a 1 when GE's closing price is above the simple moving average and a 0 when GE Closing price is below the 50 day simple moving average. However, what I really want to do is to produce a 1 for when the price is above the simple moving average for 3 days

[LLVMdev] LLVM
Hi Chris, Thanks for the quick input. The harder the LLVM is, the harder it is for me to teach the course:-) Too many optimisations have been added, meaning I have to design many new projects. --- Jingling On Mon, Feb 23, 2004 at 09:41:13PM -0600, Chris Lattner wrote: > On Tue, 24 Feb 2004, Jingling Xue wrote: > > > I understand that LLVM is now available in the public domain. >

Hi all.. I'm very new R, and i'm analyzing microarray data using Bioconductor.. Recently i was given microarray data to analyze. The problem is whenever i run MAS5 presence calls algorithm, it throws an error saying NA/NaN/Inf in foreign function. How do i remove such NA/NaN/Inf's ?? I tried na.omit(dataframe) but stil problem exists. dimension of matrix (data) is 35556 7. >
