lattice and dates
HiI'm fairly new to R and the list, so please take what I say accordingly!Far as I can see, strptime gives you a string in some specified format. In order to do any kind of numerically-based modelling with that, you need to obtain a number to work with. One way to do this is by getting the time with Sys.time() instead and coercing it to a number using as.integer():> as.integer(Sys.time())I

Accessing items in a list of lists
Using R 2.6.2, say I have the following list of lists, "comb": data1 <- list(a = 1, b = 2, c = 3) data2 <- list(a = 4, b = 5, c = 6) data3 <- list(a = 3, b = 6, c = 9) comb <- list(data1 = data1, data2 = data2, data3 = data3) So that all names for the lowest level list are common. How can I most efficiently access all of the sublist items "a" indexed by the outer

White dot glitch in menu bar with GMA950
I've installed Wine under Ubuntu 8.10 and my windows apps seem to run quite nicely. The only problem I have is a cosmetic gripe. Clicking on the menu bar in a windows app drops down the menu fine (the file menu in Photoshop for example), but as I then move my mouse pointer rightwards over the adjacent menu headings, white dots appear at the dividing point between each menu... Does anyone

I'm trying to play Morrowind GOTY on my 2011 MacBook Air (Intel HD 3000, 4gb ram) using the Wine wrapper by HiPhish. I've managed to install it and everything seems to be working fine except for a

I'm using a stock Fedora Core 3 (fc3) system and currently wine-20041201-1fc3winehq with a default config file. When I run windows applications there is a transparent border around the menubar and all

Centos6 Migration glitch - Samba
Folks My experiments have shown that Samba behaves differently in Centos 5.6 and Centos 6 (updated). In Centos 5, service smb restart restarts both smb and nmb. In Centos 6, however, it restarts only smb. REMEDY: a) Make sure that both services running b) Issue chkconfig smb on chkconfig nmb on IS THIS THE DESIRED BEHAVIOR I have no idea if this difference is a
